Let’s leave it here as I think we aren’t that far apart but you’re picking fights about things I haven’t said. No milan wasn’t a league game, but you described Wednesday as ‘the exception’ which also wasn’t a league game (and forgot about the Leicester debacle), so I don’t think looking at our overall form in all competitions is unreasonable, and nor did I suggest Milan was on the level of the Leicester performance, in fact quite the opposite as I put it in a separate category of mediocre. There is needless negativity on here, but also needless positivity (the nothing is on Conte crowd) and I will disagree with both when I see it
I didn't say Sheffield United was an exception, I said Leicester was in that period of league games where we won and kept clean sheets. I said Wednesday was a disgrace, so I agreed with you there. Milan was the first of a two legged tie that I still believe we can overturn and beat them.

I have criticised Conte when he deserves it, and I have praised him when he deserves it. My problem is with people that just don't give credit where it is due and conveniently ignore his returning early from surgery like he doesn't care about the club. He obviously does.

He has his faults. He also has his pros. He has also suffered life changing events in the past few months, so I give him the benefit of that as someone who has severe depression myself.

Yet we

a very poor West Ham side that have one of the best defences this year in Europe… a chelsea side with the 2nd best defence in the league from goals scored.
We have played some lovely stuff recently but because it’s not all out attack people moan.

do you think West Ham 's defence is one of the best in Europe wow I think that's a laughable comment - but they were terrible against us and as limited a West Ham side as I have seen for a long time they offered nothing and the first half in that game was dreadful from both sides whoever scored first was going to win it - Chelsea could still have been there now and wouldn't have scored there defence is ok- mind you losing Silva who when he has played against previously could have pulled out a cigar and his indoor slippers and still wandered through the game probably had some say - but Spurs were ok in that game

but the point is the football over the course of the season has been dour to watch if you think its lovely good for you but even if you think winning the derbies was great to follow it with Wednesday's performance or lack of sums it up really

Your wording made me think you were describing Wednesday as the exception not the Leicester game so I get your point now on league form, and I agree 12 points from 15 is good although remain concerned by the terrible games like Leicester - I never have any idea what to expect from this team this year as our firm lurches around game to game.

Conte gets praise and criticism, and most people balance it with exceptions at both ends. I totally agree about his shit year and hope things get better for him regardless of spurs form, as I do for you!

I think the VFTL lads were onto something: a major issue fans have is a feeling of the club's priorities being wrong. If we go out to Milan next week, then the season's done, bar a few games trying to get back into the competition that we lost the first knockout game of. So it'll be a few months of attempting to get back into a competition that our manager probably won't see when we could've had a genuine chance of silverware - or at least a trip to Wembley without playing a top division side. I guess it's a good problem to have but it's not really exciting.

Our priorities are definitely wrong. Full strength in both cup games with rotation today depending on fitness was the way it should have been done. What message does resting Kane say to the rest of the players? Basically says this one isn't important to us so just run about a bit.

What’s odd is the refusal of some to accept Conte has any responsibility for our performances. I’m not calling for him to be sacked, and I think we should have done more to support him. But I picked on your post as the best example of people just excusing him for anything and everything. What exactly do you think a manager does?
I was Conte in until I watched Arsenal cut us into ribbons at the Lane in January. As I've progressed further and further towards wanting him gone, I've been genuinely amazed at how many people have excused the collective loss of form in this team as if its just "one of those things" and means Conte has been unlucky, rather than something a coach is meant to work on. It's no wonder Antonio has been allowed to say he's doing us a favour by being at Tottenham over and over; many fans genuinely believe it.

Agree.

If a coach's skillset is so circumstantial that he has to have the exact parts to make it work and offers little else if it doesn't then it was a pretty dumb appointment to start with and even dumber to carry on with.

Also I am done with the archaic brand of football the last 3 coach's have given us.
Winning is not worth watching that shit.

Before our game there was a stat that they were in the top 5 for defence in Europe. It was to do with xg etc. I’ll try to dig it out when I have time
If we’re picking and choosing stats, based on EPL goals conceded West Ham have the joint 7th best defence in the EPL. Over the last 15 games it’s the joint 10th.

They’ve got a mid-table defence and a bottom 6 attack - and that’s how they looked when we played them 2 weeks ago.

We are a poor team to watch. As well as quite a difficult side to get behind as we don't really have an engaging or likeable bunch of players. We may sleepwalk through to the UCL again, but what is the endgame?

To me it looks like the aim is to do just enough to secure Champions League every season. There is no sign of progression or growth and we haven't really seen that since Poch left.

I know Twitter can be a shit show and not always a great gauge of rationale fans but alot of what I'm seeing, even from accounts like fighting cock, seem to now want Conte out. Be very interesting to see what sort of reaction he gets when next in dugout. I don't expect booing or any bullshit like that but I don't expect many will be singing his name.

It's never dull at spurs is it

Guarantee there's some on here will vote for the others for no reason other than their bias against him.
Conte has done nothing to deserve a vote. Ten hag won a title, silva has fulham fighting for top 4 with a avarage team. Crazy that Conte even is nominated actually.

Listening to view from the lane and even without Danny Kelly on it the lads make their views on Conte clearer each podcast that goes by.
Considering 2 of the 3 cover spurs, and aren't spurs fans, it's interesting hearing their views.

Double down again on their view that he's unlikely to be there next season and let's just say they aren't even trying to hide their opinions about him anymore.

Hard to disagree with any of it to be honest. Unfortunately the fortunes of the team won't change by getting rid of him as the ineptitude above him will still be there but least we might be able to see a decent game of football & given the players we have the actual % of wins shouldn't change.
Why would they have hidden their opinions in the first place? I thought that pundits are supposed to give opinions?
