So with contracts running out I had a look at player who could be available at a cut price or ever get on a pre contract..... some very intresting names IMO.

http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/spieler/vertragsende/basics_gesamt_2014.html

Some of the ones that stand out for me would be

Jeremy Menez
Tom Ince
Shane Long
Alen Halilovic
Sebastian Rode
Fabio

All resonably young and all would be a bargin if we could get on a decent contract. We could finially get Diego too, Glens wonder kid that never was.

Alonso
Piralo
Berby

Again I think would be useful but contrats could be the problem, still a pretty decent list.

Could also try for a sneaky Sagna/ Cole bid 2 scummers at fullbacks..... I joke.

Matuidi, Gomis, Ya Konan, Niang, Traore and Dja Djedje. Then we'll have an exciting team for sure.

Was just about to post a thread on this, saw this just in time - will just post it here instead :)

Here's a list put out by goal of players who will be out of contract in the summer, and so are available for pre-contract talks as of now. I'll only bother with the lists from the Bundesliga, La Liga and Serie A..

Serie A - Bundesliga - La Liga

A few standouts from the Bundesliga:

Sebastian Rode
Ivica Olic
Andreas Beck
Sebastian Rudy
Alexander Esswein
Clemens Fritz
Aaron Hunt
Diego

Someone else can do a summary of the Serie A and La Liga lists if they like, I'm sticking to my specialist league :)

Not a terrible list that!

Any potential Bundesliga targets for us?

Ramos, Volland and Lasogga all look very promising to me!

Esswein is a pacey striker, maybe could offer something different but I'm definitely keen on Volland and Werner. Beck could make a handy back up right back but with Fredericks and Walker never injured isn't really any need. Diego is a big of a livewire but a superb player - world class in my opinion. Depends if we fancy the risk, but having a few other Brazilians around the place would help him settle, though he's fluent in English

The Serie A list is a bit bleak. Pirlo, naturally, is the standout but I'm sure Juve will work it out with him. Vargas, although not my cup of tea, is a decent player but I believe he's just signed a contract extension with La Viola. The likes of Dias, Mauri, Milito, Zanetti, Cambiasso and Klose are very experienced, dependable players but I feel are too old now to get anything out of them. Yes, Pirlo is just as old but he's still performing at a world class level, the others have dropped off the last year or two.

Abbiati could be a good backup. He's way past his best but I still think he's better than Friedel and Gomes.

Ariaudo was a huge prospect at one point but never lived up to his potential, but he's still young and could be a better backup choice than Dawson.

Ekdal impressed me when he was young but never quite cut it either. I think our midfield is too competitive for him now.

Emanuelson isn't a bad player, never quite lived up to hype either but plays a fair few positions.

D'ambrosio always impresses me when he plays but, like with these other players I've mentioned, probably isn't at our level even as a backup.

The only one I'd actually go for is Udinese's keeper Brkic. He's had some brilliant displays for them and is the right side of 30. Don't know if he'd be happy to sit as an understudy though.

We should go for John Terry. We need a new CB, and he's the exact type of player we need - a leader. Not to mention unlike all our other centre-backs he wouldn't get injured playing for his country. Not to mention his age would lead him to be fine for rotation too, as he probably couldn't play every game. And it would annoy Mourinho!

Now if only he wasn't such a ****. :p

Cheers mate, shame about Klose, reckon we shoulda properly gone for him when he first signed for Lazio - he did well for them the first 2 years (I heard) but at 35 now it doesn't seem worth it even as a backup.

Well that's the Bundesliga and Serie A covered, we really need a Spanish mate to complete our little ensemble :p
