What I do remember from the game was the celebrity match beforehand (this used to be a thing)
Daley Thompson player for the Spurs celebrities and scored (if memory serves me right) followed by chants of sign him up

My first live cup final after having seen the whole cup run.
Everyone was so sure we were going to win, but I think Cov had beaten Man Utd on their run to the final, so it was my first bitter lesson that nothing is guaranteed where Spurs are concerned!.
Horrible day all round and also remember vividly piss flowing down the terraces as our fans emptied their bladders on a hot day!. The old Wembley had soul but it was literally a bit of a toilet.

First spurs game I really watched albeit my brother had coerced me into supporting them 2-3 years beforehand.

“Will we win?”, I asked.

“Spurs have never lost a cup final and are much better than Coventry.”

Never forgiven the **** for the 40 years and counting of misery he’s inflicted on me.

70 years earlier - being relegated from Division 1 and replaced by the team who came 6th in Division 2 must be a candidate for that "accolade"
