sport is laportas mouthpiece.

that is obviously a opening bid.

Pep wont sign his new deal he is livid they havent secured the players he has asked for.

fabregas, crgrintsky, mata alves are the 4 more he wants.

I bet if Pep comes out and says he wants fabregas, Bara bid 40 million euros and fabregas hands in a transfer request it will be done.

to play for a team that won the treble, that plays flowing quality football or stay at arsenil when they wont finish in the top 6 and have sold their best 2 players.

Care to have a little wager on that?

If arse keep Fabregas I'll have some of that wager too. £100 sound OK. Or do you want a bit more.

With their current squad (even minus Fabregas) taking that Utd, Chavs and Pool are a given in your eyes, who are the other 3 teams you have finishing above them?

Barcelona 'won't overpay' for Fabregas

Barca have long been linked with their former youth player, and Begiristain identified him as one of the few players capable of improving a team that won a domestic and European treble last season.
"It depends on how much we want to spend," he said in Marca. "If we spend a lot of money, it is possible (to bid for Fabregas). We do not know how much it will be yet. We have not asked Arsenal.
"If the amount is too high, we will not try."

They're putting it out there to try and turn his head, which is great news.

Hopefully he'll slap in a transfer request :-D

Although watching Wilshere, I think he has the potential to be even better....

Arshavin? Eduardo? van Persie?

People have been gleefully writing Arsenal off for the last three seasons. Unfortunately, prophecies of their imminent demise have been somewhat wide of the mark.

And Henry?

I don't see Fabregas in Barca's strongest 11.

pep stated earlier today that there would no problem to move iniesta forward, and that so far maxwell hasnt done enough to take abidals starting place

Disagree. Why mess with something that ist broken?

Fabregas to me is Xavi's long term succesor.

A trio of Xavi, Toure & Iniesta in the middle...with Messi, Ibra & Henry ahead of them will do the job.

True but these people have got to be right sometime...

Just like us Spurs fans who always say 'next year' will be right sometime.

This season I can see any two of Arsenal, Pool or Utd not making top 4. I'm deadly serious too and will be placing several real money e/w bets on teams who could make top 4 by default.

because we learnt from 04-05 and 05-06 not to sit on our laurels and the fact madrid on paper look stronger.

i dont think there is any chance of the likes of xavi, puyol, iniesta, messi becoming complacent all 4 guys are class acts just that the squad isnt that deep either. if xavi gets injured were screwed

If they can keep Eduardo fit he might be top scorer in the league. Arsenal are always going to create a hatful of chances and Eduardo is a natural finisher. In recent years Arsenal have been unbelievably wasteful. Adebayor is so over-rated it is untrue. If he had been just a bit better he would have had 30 goals a season and don't get me started on Bendtner. Eduardo is a different type of player altogether and if he gets a run he will finish moves.

Unfortunately with Arshavin and Van Persie doing the creative things alongside they are still going to score a lot of goals. If Eduardo gets injured they may struggle a bit more but they can still put VP, Arshavin or Walcott up front and expect some kind of return, especially against teams that they just play through.

They are still going to be very good unfortunately. I can't see Man City finishing above them. They may be weak defensively, but they are still going to pass their way through plenty of the lesser teams. They'll lose some games against physical opposition and I can't see them challenging for the title, but I don't think they will be suddenly awful without Adebayor and Toure.

It looks good and I hope that Barcelona can get Fabregas from Arsenal, but I really don't see it happening. Shame as that is the one player they might struggle without.

a 40 million euro bid has gone in and barca are confident it will be accpeted. the personal terms are not an issue, the player obviously wants to move, arsenil are dicking about because they have to find a replacement. watch the twats go in for sissoko now
