Well, footballers are much the same. Let us pen bards in honour of Fernando Llorente, sing them with the gusto of boozed-up squaddies and bring him to Spurs.

There is a (slightly) serious point to this - if the fans can convince him that we are a big club who treat their players as heroes, it should aid DL and HR in our transfer negotiations. (Not that HR ever has anything to do with transfers, ya know :wink

Stuff like this has great potential in making us look like absolute mugs though. Such as if he were to sign for a rival instead. I would also argue that instead of making us look like a big club, I fear it would make us look like a small, needy club.

Wouldn't chanting for our owns players be the best way to show him that "we are a big club who treat their players as heroes", rather than chanting for someone that's playing against us? It would be nearly as bad as the time the fans were singing Defoe's name as Bent was scoring a hat-trick.

I wouldn't say crap as the intent is good, just has a good chance of backfiring, in my opinion.

Better way of wooing him would be to get behind our current players 100% and give them our full support.

Would show him we support all our players who don the lillywhite, even the ( currently ) crap ones!

Leave him thinking 'if they cheer this lot of forwards who rarely find the net, how would they great a finisher like me!!?'
