So with the TW well under way and having already had a couple of encouraging signings, I thought that it would be fun to start looking at what type of team we would like to see at the end of the window if transfers where easy and we could sign who we like.

So, here is my offering. It is probably near on what most people would like to see but hey ho.

I know I have Caulker in there and not Kabul but I am basing this on players that are currently available.

Lloris
Walker Caulker Jan Benny

Sandro Dembele
Lennon Bale

Ade Defoe

With the exclusion of Ade should he go to ACN. If that does happen id love to see a midfield and front line of this;

Sandro Parker
Lennon Dembele Bale
Defoe

Unfortunately I don't think we'll get either Moutinho or Leandro. And I'm usually incredibly optimistic.

Very attacking line up. Walker and Bale can overlap to provide width. Lots of goal threat with Sig and Dempsey. Won't need a DM as both Holtby and Dembele work and tackle hard. Can swap Dempsey and Sig with Bale and Lennon, putting BAE at LB if you want pace and width over goal threat

Me too. That team would get spanked week in, week out in the premiership. Hilarious.

Ha would it fuck you cheeky bastards. It would be fun to watch anyway

The fuck is Sandro?

I love Sandro and Parker but Holtby has played as a DM before and Dembele is a beast. Picked the team to be exciting with passing and movement. If you have the ball you don't need a DM. In fact the whole DM circle jerk pisses me right off

This. I also agree with your sentiments with regards to potential signings

So we should be ok if we have 100% possession then, personaly I'd have the circle jerk and put Sandro in the team.

I really wouldn't change an awful lot to be honest. We don't need Holtby now, for a start, as Clint and Sig finally look like they're starting to settle in a bit. We need a new striker, and assuming Kaboul isn't fit by then:
Lloris
Walker Dawson Vertonghen BAE
Sandro Dembele
Lennon Sigurdsson Bale
Leandro
Perhaps with Moutinho coming in for one of our midfield 3 should a deal be done.

I know what you mean. The fucking stupidity of Barcelona constantly playing Busquets, Madrid insisting on playing Khedira, the undroppable Barry at City just has no place in modern football. No wonder all of those teams get spanked every game

Admittedly there is a doubt as to whether Sandro can play upfront on his own, but with Sandro playing off him and with Sandro attacking from the left and Sandro attacking from the right I think Sandro will get enough goals.
Sandro can hold in midfield whilst Sandro gets forward and at fullback Sandro and Sandro are more than good enough defensively and whilst pushing up to do the job.
Sandro is arguably better as a left sided centre back but with Sandro available it has to be that way round.
In goal it's a toss up between Sandro and Sandro, but overall I just think Sandro suits our system better.

I can't believe you upset Sandro by not playing Sandro in goal sooner

Didn't put Holtby in because i'd be happy for him to arrive in summer. Also forgot to put Dempsey/Siggs on the bench but that'd change all the time anyway.

I hate to quibble but:

1. You only have one Sandro which is ridiculous; and
2. I don't think 4-3-3-7 is a valid formation.

I know it's a lot of changes but would only cost about 50m we could sell Bale for that!

Barry, Busquets and Khedira are all pretty decent passers of the ball. Barry and Busquets especially. Sandro's distribution is very average. Dembele and Holtby are both capable defensively and can boss the midfield. Having a player dedicated to defending with them two in the middle would be a waste. They would take it in turns to cover deep but would provide far more movement and passing than Sandro would. We'd be far less predictable going forward and trying to break sides down without compromising defensively.

Not that it matters, Sandro is awesome there as well. Brilliant that we could end up with a lot of exciting options.
