Whilst browsing eBay, i saw an auction for the original R9 98 world cup boots (http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/8766/dsfsdfvr0.jpg), which got me thinking what is your favourite ever football boot made.

Mine has to be F50+ from 2005 in the black and blue, as back then Defoe was my favourite player and they were just really nice boots

I remember as a kid saving up for what seemed like ages for those Ronaldo R9 boots, only for one of them to split on like the fourth occasion I wore them. Was devastated at the time!

Nike Tiempo(sp?) boots were always my fave.

The correct answer is Adidas Copa Mundials.

Actually I think you'll find the correct answer is Puma Kings ;)

Both of these boots are probably the best boots I have ever worn. I've owned both over the years and by far they are both the most well made and comfortable boots I've had. I really couldn't pick one over the other personally.

I actually like the AdiPure range as well, they do a really good astro turf version.

Edit: On a side note, I can't stand blades. I bought the Adidas Predators with blades years ago to try them and I didn't feel too steady on my feet. I tried wearing them in to see if I could get used to them until I rolled over onto my ankle (pitch wasn't even slippery) and tore two ligaments in my ankle. Fun times!

I still wear predator pulses that i bought new in 2004. In the time since ive had vapors, t90s, and f50s but i still keep coming back to the pulses. Such a solidly constructed and comfortable boot and ive scored some great goals in them. That said, those classic f50s are beautiful. I had a friend who bought those new with sg studs the same time i bought the pulses and right before our schools season started they banned metal studs

Those of us that didn't need a fancy shmancy boot to compensate for our lack of talent the boot of choice was:

Puma Kings.

The discerning footballer's choice.

The correct answer is Adidas Copa Mundials.

These were a very good boot. World Cups were also a slightly different slant, but of the same ilk.

Those of us that didn't need a fancy shmancy boot to compensate for our lack of talent the boot of choice was:

Puma Kings.

The discerning footballer's choice.

But these were the greatest. The flappy white tongues. Just an allround great boot.

I had Copa's and Puma Kings, always the Copa's for me. I had a brief affair with Predators but it didn't last.

Nikes are so mainstream.

I think we all toyed with predators.

Then realised that only ****s wore them.

I had red ones.

Because I'm a ****.

I can remember turning up for football training on a Saturday morning, must have been about 97/98, with everyone staring in amazement as I slipped on my £100+ World Cup's going on about how they are made from Kangaroo leather and considerably better than your Cica Blades.

What they didn't know was I spotted them brand new at a boot sale and begged my Nan to give me a tenner to get them.

I also loved those F50s but in black & white or red & white

Then there's the old gold and white predators

Gotta love German customised F50s too

To be honest, I like the new F50s they're coming out with. A lot of people hate all the new flimsy, brightly coloured shoes but as a winger I love them! Don't look that great in picture but in real life with someone's feet lighting up the pitch I think they look great!
