He is a much cheaper alternative to MM. Could there then be some extra cash leftover to push the MS deal through?
Sounds like we were relying on outgoings to put the bid up on MM. Now they haven't materialised we're going a bit cheaper. This is a deal i'd be waiting a bit longer to do.

MM is the better player but Fazio is very good in the air and is your more "traditional" Argentinian cb, hence the yellows.

Won't be back up to Dier either.

If he comes Poch will be starting him alongside Vertonghen with Dier and Chiriches as back up players.

Yet none of them have made a move for him despite his low release clause.
Not. this. again.

How many teams made a bid for Eriksen? Only us and he was a fucking bargain because he's one of the best young players in the world.

Means fuck all.

To be fair Mertesacker is extremely slow but he's been excellent for Arsenal and doesn't seem to get exploited too much.

I trust the manager. If this is true I assume it means the Musacchio deal is as good as dead.

He has superb awareness and positional sense, plus having the pace and agility of Koscielny to compliment him meant that the pair were arguably the best CB partnership last season.

This sounds like Fazio was second on Poch's list. No coincidence that Fazio is a target and happens to play in La Liga and is Argentina (like Musacchio)

Guess this is our back up option and we got told MM is in the squad for todays EL game...

Not sure about him if he lacks pace..

I think a lot of people get too tied up in physical attributes (pace/agility/etc.). While those things obviously do help in making a complete player, it's not the end all be all. Things such as being able to read the game and having quality positioning can go a lot further than those physical attributes as they will eventually let you down. It'd be nice to find a complete player with both the physical/mental attributes, but unless we find this player at a young age we are likely not going to be able to afford them.

Seems strange to go for a player that would be more the vidic than the ferdinand when we were in for a ferdinand in MM... will be interested to see some highlights on him and get a feel for the type of player he is... would be strange to sell Dawson and sign a player similarly slow...

Difficult when using Google translate but the Sevilla fans don't seem too pleased about the prospect of him leaving.

Hopefully nobody pays Clause

Fazio takes a very high level the last two years, ie when played continuously without stoppages for injury. Try to understand that Fazio Fallon little overwhelming and a thousand reasons reproach was the player who again and again is was damaging and had no continuity, the Fazio now is nothing less than one of the best center in the league and one of the three best, if not the best player of the current Sevilla. Fazio If it was Sevilla pay and with many points in the standings, he was important in the successes of last year.
