How can it not be the right choice? The guy has scored 60 goals in 2010 and was the best player. They could have gone down the route of picking the guy who scored in the world cup final but let's be honest the quality in the world cup was crap. Spain weren't even good, Iniesta didn't really get going in it until the goal. In fact after Spain were beaten by Switzerland he wasn't included in the second game. He missed periods of the year with injury too.

Obvious choice as far as I am concerned.

The bookies were all split on the odds, I went with Paddy Power, just a shame I didnt back it with real cash.

Fwiw, I thought Xavi should have got it, Messi was anonymous in the world cup but had a great season in La Liga so no complaints really there.
