They don't. You need to choose the players that are playing soonest, then if they don't score enough points you can still change them for another player later in the game week. i.e You choose Neymar to play tonight, if he deosn't do anything you can move him out of the team and put in Rooney who plays tomorrow. If Rooney scores, keep him in, if not drop him and put in Lukaku who plays next week. It's the points for your team at the end of the gameweek that counts, rather than your starting 11 at the beginning of the week.

It is tricky. I was trying to go for a balanced squad, but failed miserably. This is my squad:

I go for 15 good players, a couple of bargains that might do well (cough Bentaleb cough), and a load of junk.

Just done a last minute overhaul of my squad to go along these lines, some crap some decent and a few great ones. Makes more sense doing it this way.
