I've watched/endured many Burnley games this season as one side of my family are all big Burnley fans. Cornet is a frustrating player. He shows glimpses of quality but it is just nowhere near frequently enough to be able to trust him. Many fans were very disappointed with him as they expected him to kick on but never really did so routinely let them down. There's a capable forward in there that certainly can score goals in the premier league but don't see him being at the level we will want. Don't see him as a wingback either, he's more suit to running in behind than in tracking back.

Like it as depth. I think he could end up at LWB for us and he’d be a perfect deputy to Kulu if Lucas moved on.

Sounds like our whole squad before Conte. I think in the right system, with the right manager he can excel.

I think he'd be one of those Perisic/Cuadrado type players that many of the best squads have. He'd come in to do a job in a number of positions but won't start every game, similar to what Traore could have done. Not averse to it.

He’s another one of these forwards where I just wouldn’t understand selling Bergwijn. The only reason we should be looking to move him on is if we can upgrade on him. Thus far Cornet, Richarleson and Jesus, all be it maybe more comfortable playing as a 9, don’t really seem like much of an upgrade talent wise.

Agree fully on that last point mate, hence why I see this as a non-starter personally. Unless we sell Bergwijn and Moura and he's the stopgap/replacement to bolster numbers but even then I think we'd be looking elsewhere personally.

I think Stevie is going. That's what my gut says anyway.

I agree though that this is the sort of signing we've made in the past as he's cheap and it's a punt but I think what we really should be doing is buying quality. Tbf we haven't always been able to do that but Champs League and Conte is a pull for a lot of players.

Nowhere near the level we should be looking at IMO, potentially not even an upgrade on Moura or Bergwjin
