We need a gritty competent midfielder like Palacios.Going well, good time to add depth as we always did in the sixties and/or a new star.

Surely Jenas will be the cover for Palacios as the mobile pressing player and it's actually Huddlestone we need competition/cover for in the more static ballplaying role?

As none of my transfer wishes have come true I'm not holding my breath, but if Bentley left I would love us to sign Srna. However I agree that a central midfielder is a priority.

I would like to see a couple of players in if we can get a couple out the door. Trying to be a s realistic as possible i would like us to sign Kranjer for 6m and Joe Cole for 10m and Sell Bentley 10m and Chimbonda 3m

Our midfield squad would be awesome -

Harry would have 2 to pick from Lennon Modric Kranjer and Joe Cole (Maybe play 3 for certain games)

Harry would have 2 to pick from Palacios Jenas Huddlestone O'Hara

Any thoughts?

Lennon
Kranjer
Modric
J.Cole
Huddlestone
Palacios
Jenas
O'Hara

I agree J Cole coming in would strengthen us up for certain. and bentley going would be a good saving in wages coz i imagine he is on a kings ransom

If this is being realistic, I'd love to see one of your flights of fantasy.

I think JJ formed a pretty decent, if not exactly creative, partnership with Palacios last season, so he's capable of covering Hudd in tougher games where we may have to outfight them (eg Chelski) more than outplay them. If our other players are on top form that should still be enough creativity to win games while we also remain hard to beat.

JJ with Hudd on the other hand hasn't really worked out that well iirc, so I'd like cover for Palacios so long as it's not Scott Brown (not better than JOH). However, JJ/Hudd might work if the whole team's pressing and movement are top-notch, so I'm a bit undecided on this one atm.

I would absolutely love an upgrade on Hudd or JJ, but those are rather rare and expensive. And I don't know where we are going to find relatively cheap yet good cover for Palacios (14m for Sissoko is taking the piss Eek).

Personally I'd like Chimbo to leave, and Bentley to leave if we got good money. I'd also like to switch Pav for a more physical target man, though I can't see that happening.

The only transfers I think will happen are cover for LW, and a CM if Jenas goes. I don't think there'll be any big names.

Apart from the Lescott gibberish the league's been pretty quiet recently. Should be an interesting end to the week & weekend.

In - CM who can tackle to play along side with Wilson.
Out - if it's not the budget issue, keep them all.

By the time ANC comes around we should have Woodgate and Dawson back so losing Bassong for a month shouldn't hurt too much. BAE will be the bigger loss, but I wouldn't be surprised to see us keep hold of Chimbonda this week, and Naughton played at LB several times for Sheff Utd, so we've got options there, even if Bale either isn't fit or is simply destined never to win a league game with us.

No-one in, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Morale seems great at the moment, we don't need anyone disrupting it. If we can afford to keep the rest of the squad we might as well, although i still reckon Chimbonda will be off.

I think Harry has made his shopping list clear by leaving the number 4 and 11 shirts unfilled. We are in for an experienced defensive midfield and an out-and-out left winger.

After the positive start none of the first teamers will be itching to go, except maybe Pav, so unless we need to sell, I don't think there will be any departures. Potentially tradeable commodities are Pav, Bently, Thudd, JOH, Jenas and Hutton.

Chimbo could go, as could some of the youngsters, most likely Dervite, GDS or the forgotten man, Pekhart.

According to l'Equipe, Spurs made a proposal for the midfield Anin after a successfull trial . Loan but Le Havre looking for a permanenet transfer.
Club would have also 2 proposals for Dervite (Ajax and a spanish club)

I'd like to see us buy an experienced holding player who can do a job for a season or so. Like a Naybet for midfield would be perfect.
