Finishing above Spam, how much of a motivation is it for our players?

I know from my point of veiw, I'll be gutted if we finnish below West Ham this season, it's going to give those pikey fans bragging rights for the whole summer (okay not really as we've won a cup and are in Europe again) but seeing as it's all we can look to acheive on the last day of the season surely it must be something the players talk about and a motivational tool to be used by the management? You know it will be for Wham!

Oh well that said I'm sure putting on a good show at home against one of the top four infront of your own fans should be motivation enough.

Let's hope we go out in style and give Liverpool a good tonking and Villa can get something at F**kup Park and leave the table with a more realistic sheen.

COYS!

A win over Liverpool isn't impossible, and I'm sure Villa could knick at least a point from Upton Park. Top half will make us look a little more respectable...

Little I feel. I don't believe our players really care about West Ham.

Spot on. It's a one-way hatred. I always like the fact that they try to play decent football, I also like that they think they are our rivals, yet they may as well be Palace or Wimbledon.

If I had to put money on it... we'll be 11th come tonight.

Don't think it matters all that much. Don't suppose the extra place will have Berbs choosing to stay
"Mmmmm, 10th! Well that's sure to set us up for a title challenge next year!"
It would be nice to finish above West Ham, but I really won't be that bothered if we don't.

COYS!

Think it bothers the Spammers more than us.

I'd like to finish above them but I bet they'd be way more upset than us if they finished below us.

From a fan poinf of view we want to finish above them, from a player point of view its more about Chavski and Arse.

Interestingly if the league was calculated by goal difference we'd be 8th and west ham 11th

....shame it isn't

£720k is the difference between 10th and 11th in the Prem. That should be incentive enough for the club to go all out this afternoon.

Finishing in the top half of the table is far more important than finishing above any particular team as far as I'm concerned.

I'll take 11th, a cup win and a spot in the UEFA over being 10th, not being in Europe and having the world's most boring man in charge.

Finishing bottom of the top half or top of the bottom half? Who really gives a shit?

I think our players will likely be more concerned with their holidays tbh.

I don't know any Spammers so I don't care too much, but I'd like to see us beat Liverpool for the sake of a bit of gloating over my many Pool-fan mates.

I also feel sorry for those Spurs fans who will have to hear the sad Spammers go on and on about finishing above us this season even though we're the team that gets to play in Europe.

It would be great to finish above them. I dont care if we finish as we are, we won a cup and are in Europe next season, but to finish above them would be the icing on the cake

Likewise, but I'd hope the potential to finish higher than we currently are should be incentive... Plus the last home game thing, they should just want to win it anyway...

Agree with alot of the others on here couldnt care less to be honest.West Ham ? Who cares ? The fact thet are always singing anti Spurs songs always makes me smile, funny to think if it means that much to them to finish midtable... shows how much ambition they have.i.e. They will be well chuffed to finish 10th one place above a club that couldnt really care about them anyway.

The thing is, West Ham have become dissillusioned themselves and were expecting far better than 10th/11th half way through the season untill they went untill free fall.
The difference between us and them is that they should be chuffed with 10th 11th and to expect anything better is unrealistic, we on the otherhand should be challenging the top 4!!!
