I'm thinking that I have seen most of the football movies out there, but I am wondering if there are any I have missed that are worth watching as I;m in the mood for somr Brit cinema. I have just put The Damned United, The Firm (the original one) and There's Only One Jimmy Grimble aside as I've yet to see them. Otherwise, from memory, I've seen:-

Bend it like Beckham
The Football Factory
Green Street
Escape to Victory
A Shot at Glory
Best

Now, there are a number I haven't yet seen but I am not sure about, including:-

When Saturday Comes
Fever Pitch (because of the scum element)
The Goal trilogy (on account of dodgy reviews).

Now, what else am I missing and does anyone have any recommendations?

I saw the first Goal movie and thought it was rubbish. I bet the sequels are equally as bad or worse

I hate to admit it but I liked Fever Pitch. It is about the Scum but it also has a real football fan element as well.

There's the black and white "Arsenal Stadium Mystery" which they show sometimes on TCM or film4.

Fever Pitch is an excellent film. It is about more typical football fans than the extreme hooliganism elements.

The first Goal film was bad and then they got worse.

Kes has some of the grittiest, most honest football scenes ever committed to film!

What was the Spurs one about the girls supporting us. Watched it when I was about 11 so can't remember the story. I think it was a woman who gives Blanchflower a lift and then reminisces about her childhood.

I remember in the mid 90's they had a 4 or 5 part series following an english player, who then went to barcelona I think. I really enjoyed it, but looking back it'd probably be shit

Just done some research

It was called "all in the game" and it was devised by Gary Lineker himself.
Dont know if you can get hold of it, but it did seem very good at the time
