Retired defender Terry Boyle is 51 today. He came through the Tottenham youth system, turning pro in 1975 but failed to break into the first team and left for a brief spell with Crystal Palace in 1977.
Capped twice for Wales, he also played for Bristol City before returning to play for several clubs in Wales, including Cardiff and Swansea, then playing for lower league clubs before hanging up his boots.
He currently works for the Football Association of Wales Trust and is assistant to Tom Morgan at Welshpool Town FC.
In this 1984 photo, he was playing for Newport County.
Inside forward Jimmy Hartley was born today in Dumbarton in 1876. He played for Sunderland and Burnley before moving south to Spurs in 1897, for two seasons.
He transferred to Lincoln City and also played for Rangers, Port Glasgow Athletic, Brentford and New Brompton, where his career ended in 1908.
This is the 1897 team. I have no idea which one is Jimmy Hartley but the picture is well worth seeing for its historical value.
