Foul stench of relegation

We are in a relegation fight, plain and simple. Problem is, too many teams are picking up points.

Our play looks lifeless. Today was probably our best performance of the season, but we are still 50% short of where we can be. our players lack intelligence - here is an idea, likes try to attack through the middle again. It didnt work the first 15 times, they wont be expecting it this time!

I think we still have a chance of survival this season despite having a non existent attack at the moment. I think we will need 38 points, so that means 12 wins should be enough. I think if we can scrape 2 or 3 wins by Jan, then we could buy an attacking force to get the goals needed to get those other wins.

By January this Tottenham team will be detatched at the bottom and nobody will want to sign for them. We haven't got the players that will roll up their sleeves and get stuck in and battle to get out of this mess. They will quite happily draw their 20-30k a week and next season look to move abroad or back to a Premiership side.

I strongly believe that we will challenge Derby's points tally of last season.

I've never seen such an impotent attack. Bent/Campbell/Pavlyuchenko are all sub rate.

I agree 100%, that is the main reason we are where we are. None of our players have scored for 270mins. And tbh we dont look like we will any time soon.

I dont' think we need to win 13 games

11 wins and 9 nine draws will be enough i reckon

To be fair to him JJ did show a bit of heart and throw himself into some tackles today. Hopefully it'll become infectious although he didn't do much after he won them tho!

We usually lose to one promoted side - I figured we'd lose at Stoke away. Pity they're up next.

Shit.

Today, for the first time (maybe like a lot of us), I have starting having those sickening thoughts of the 'R' word. Not pleasant.

 Jenas ran his socks of for the Team ! I always got shot down when I mentioned the R word. But its reality.. Ah well I remember when we came up with Bolton and Stains. Well at least we will be reunited with our rivalry against Southampton ! For all the other members of SC, its only a team and life goes on there are better things to be worried about ! As I always say, look on the bright side of life or just be happy !!:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:.

the times I pointed this out - the times I heard blah blah blah not good enough blah blah blah top 4 blah blah mediocre - crap - blah blah blah - shit blah blah blah

oh and have some rep alfie for supporting jj :)

I am not sure of what to think, I want to say get him out, but I am thinking, so many times in the past we have made rash decisions, and look where it has gotten us! Plus, who else is there to come in?

People talk about us being sucked into a relegation dogfight, but that is assuming we have the players interested in fighting.

Most, if not all the first team players will be off to premiership/la liga clubs if we go down, so not much pressure there (unlike players playing for clubs like Stoke, who know this is their best chance of being among the "big boys").

At this rate we won't be in a dogfight, we will be adrift of the rest of the premiership, the whipping boys basically. WHEN the new manager comes in, it will be a great achievement if they keep us up.

Come January, if we are still in this position..there will be a surge in the amount of transfer requests going in. Our best players will be off

That's what I find so depressing - the same bunch of players who have been a big factor behind our current position will be the ones who have no trouble finding other clubs higher up the table if we look like we'll be going down in the New Year. They will get their new, lucrative contracts with their new employers, and we (THFC) will be left - not missed and not cared about - to pick up the Bottom 3-shaped pieces.

Can't even find the smallest chink of light to look positively on the situation with.

I don't think the board would dare let any key players leave in January .

However those players who have been trying their best are the ones most likely to feel let down and want out :-
- Bale
- Woodgate
- Hutton
- Lennon

IMHO those are also the only ones of a quality which makes them suspceptible to poaching by top 7 teams .

As so many of us said at the time, the inability to sign another striker (or two) really was, for whatever reason, a catastrophe. And many of us were shot down for saying so but I knew in my heart it was an awful situation.

Glimmers of hope? Pav must get better with time once he settles, and will score some goals. Modric and Bentley too will improve, and Lennon and Jenas are actually putting it in and playing OK. I think we'll stay up but can't see us finishing much higher than 14th.

And nevermind Ramos, will Levy still be here next season? I think he must be having serious doubts about hanging around for much longer...
