Not enough time to complete a permanent transfer I would guess, seeing as it was all probably done a the very last minute.

They where saying on SSN last night (why im beliving this i dont know ) that the deal with Frazer Campbell was done earlier in the Day and it was just waiting on Berbatov

also on COYS

more ITK

I don't get ITK info and I'm afraid its not the best news to pass on but my boss has been reliably told by his sports journalist friend that we do have an option to buy Campbell for £7m at the end of the loan.

if we have indeed got a clause to buy him at the end of the loan, that could well be a very good bit of business.

and all on top of £30.75m

the difference between now and last season is that we were relying on berba/keane not just to SCORE all our goals but also CREATE them all as well. there was very little output from the midfield on either of these fronts.

now we have a midfield with many more potential goals in them, as well as being far more creative... therefore we will only be asking our strikers to get in decent positions and convert chances, rather than do the whole bloody lot themselves. it seems to me that bent/pav/fraizer should all be up to this, hence i am not nearly as pessimistic as most of the dinlows that have posted on here so far

Feel sorry for this lad, it's not his fault that he is crap and should be playing in the Championship.

You have absolutely no evidence to suggest that is true. I'm as unhappy as everyone else with our last day dealings but get behind this kid he could be VVgood in the long run. I just hope that we do have a clause with a set fee option to buy at the end as if we don't have that in place I've got a feeling Man U will win again!

Hello, I'm a long time lurker on SC but all the panic about strikers and madness around this window made me want to post.

I dont think our striking options are that bad. It seemed like Ramos like quick direct strikers when he was at Seville so the type of strikers weve got here might even suit him more. Plus with Berbatov gone they'll be less media pressure (man city will probably getting most of breaking the top 4 speculation now). Be nice to have a squad thats together and a bit more solid with noone wanting out.

we get a player who man u seem to at worst half rate and who other clubs, albeit lower clubs, were willing to pay 7m for on loan. worst thing that happens is we use him a bit until jan when we have a chance to sign another striker. its not a bad deal at all for us i dont understand why people are giving out. we have very little to lose with the deal. course we would've liked to have signed a high profile striker but if there wasnt one who was considered good enough then why not take a chance on a young lad on loan and if it doesnt work out we're not stuck with a player who we paid a lot of money for and who will be a on a big wage

What has he done,,,,,,,,,,,,,, sold Bugeroff, sold the Keano and replaced him with an unproven Russian - not bad. A kid we got on loan so we get to give him a few more games than the Manks show everyone if he has talent and hand him back so manks can make even more money from our feeder club. Why did he not get rid of Bent the guy aint worth half the money we paid for him. Why no midfield general. Its all about money for us. Big spenders, yeah ok. How much did we actually spend? how much did we make? Where are we on the ladder in terms of wealth? Think about it last year would we have been mid table without Berbs and Keano`s goals? no relegated i think youll find. So what do we do ? sell our prized assets, replace them with unproven quality We the fans got fucked, end of.

Jeez you so called 'supporters', really do spend a lot of time whinging. What chance has this kid or the team got to gel and succeed if we're all ready to slaughter them after 10 minutes of the Villa game.

A couple of years ago, we had 4 strikers and everyone complained we'd never be able to keep them all happy. Now we have 3 and Dos Santos and that is far too few.

Before the Man City fiasco, everyone would have been exstatic if we'd got FC and £25 for Berbs. This way we got it all in cash and still get the player. If we want him after the 'trial', we may well have first rights. If not, he's got to have a seriously awsome season to be ahead of Rooney, Berbs and Tevez in the pecking order.

People in this thread are making the arguments that a) he's shit and b) that when he's amazing in a year's time, he'll go back to Man u.

Man U could have sold him for £3Mil, but didn't because we wanted him.

He's ayoung promising kid, who's quick and will work very hard for the team. If he'd come through our own youth ranks (like Barny) we'd rave about him and demand he was given a chance rather than spend the money on a foreigner who wasn't used to the premiership.

So two minutes of promise and two minutes of nearly-but-not-quite-good-enough?

Sorry but that is an awful video.

BTW I really hope Campbell can do a job and I really think he can based on the little I've seen of him, but that video was not a good example.

an unproven Russian

Funny how much I'm seeing this phrase banded about. On Saturday when he was announced he was the Next Big Thing out of Russia. Make your minds up lads. The player doesn't become worse over two days, just because we didn't get all the players the ITKs suggested we might.

After a little sleep last night and some hard graft at work this morning, I've come to accept our transfer window as a whole as generally very good.

We found ourselves in a position where two of our greatest assets wanted to leave, and we got £50 million for the pair of them. We revamped our midfield and shipped out deadwood, and unhappy players.

Gomes instead of Robinson
Sanchez instead of Cerny
Corluka instead of Chimbonda, Kaboul and Gardner
Bentley, Modric and Dos Santos instead of Malbranque and Tainio
Pavlyuchenko (aged 26) in - Keane (aged 28) out
Bent in (albeit last season) - Berbatov out
Campbell as a backup striker/promising kid.

As well as Bostock and Mpoku as two promising kids.

10 signings.

We don't need four strikers. We didn't need three last year. All of these arguments about "what if so-and-so gets injured". Well, what if Berbatov got injured last season. We'd have to play Bent and Keane and a kid? I didn't hear anybody moaning then? No other clubs had the strength in dept of our striking department - the reason: it wasn't necessary and we were always one heavy.

I'm happier now that the dust has settled from last night.

Well, quite. And once the squad has started to gel a little we should have more midfielders chipping in with goals anyway.

The one slight bummer is that Pav is cup-tied for UEFA, but frankly, if we can't see off Wisla and whoever we get in the group stage without him we might as well pack up now.
