Just out of curiosity, how do you guys see the French league ? Pre and post PSG.
Is it a true member of the "top 5" leagues, or another league like Portugal, Russia, etc.

Montpellier won the league from PSG last year.

Reims just beat PSG and Lyon could have tied them at the top, but didn't win.

I don't know that PSG's spending power has made much difference so far. Top 3 are currently as you'd expect - PSG, Lyon, Marseille. 9pts separate 3rd and 9th. There is a lot more focus on the league as a result of their signings but in terms of competition it is quite even.

It'll be interesting to see how much further PSG progress in the CL, otherwise the Qataris will have spent a lot of money just to win the French League. This season, at least. But then what? they already spent a fortune, who else can they get?!

Qataris might as well have bought Celtic...........

These things won't happen overnight guys. In ten years time PSG will be a European superpower. Sustained success is pivotal in this transition.

European super power in a poor league - nah not for me, it isn't my idea of entertainment within sport. Even Real have Barca and Munich have Dortmund. PSG need a more competition in their domestic league. Watched them against Valencia it was hard work. French sport is quite depressed at the moment.

Lyon is not as good as in the early 2000s but they are still a good team. And there will be Monaco next year, they have been bought by a russian.
