Seeing as everyone is assuming the non-internationals left behind are leaving, does that mean Yedlin is staying ? I think people are looking into it too much. Bentaleb, N'Jie and Pritch all had injury issues last season, so they're most likely staying behind to continue working on those.

I think Yedlin is staying as much as Carroll and Chadli are. I.e. not close to another club yet (deal derailed by Mike Basset getting the England job?), but unlikely to still be here come September

So our line up for Australia will look like this:

----------------------------Vorm (McGee, Glover) ---------------------
Trippier (Yedlin)---CCV (Ball)-------Wimmer--------KWP (Amos)--
---------------Wanyama (Winks)-Mason (Carroll)--------------------
--Lamela (Onomah)--Son (Edwards)-----------Eriksen (Chadli)--
-------------------------------Janssen (Harrison)------------------------
+ Walkes

A bit weak in defense with no real LB. Excited to see the offense though. Janssen, Onomah, Winks and Edwards in particular will catch my eye.

Swap Edwards and Onomah around and you are probably right. Or even Onomah and Carroll and then move edwards or miller out wide

For the first game I would like to see:

Vorm
Yedlin CCV Wimmer Amos
Wanyama Onomah
Edwards Eriksen Son
Harrison
Then:

McGee
Trippier Ball Walkes KWP
Mason Winks
Lamela Miller Chadli
Janssen

Main things to see would be Onomah given a shot at CM, Harrison given a good 45 minutes against good opposition and obviously the same for Edwards and CCV.

We don't have that many pre season games, not sure we'll rotate that much.
Can see Janssen start both of them.

More and more I think about it I think our pre season schedule on the back of the euros is ridiculous

Poch went on record to say he doesn't like it and he finds himself away from 9 of his starting players for 10 days to train a quarter of the squad that won't even feature for us

Not impressed

None of Kane, Alli, Rose, Walker, Dier, Davies, Vertonghen (injured), Aldeerweireld, Dembele or Llloris have had more than a day or two's pre-season training after coming back from Euros - Llloris has probably not even arrived back yet.

The first week or so of preseason is about fitness, not football, so Poch isn't missing much as the players he knows best start their pre-season - and even when Poch is back from Oz they'll still only be a maximum of 2 weeks into pre-season, and still not fully fit.

Benefit Poch gets in Oz is working with some of the players on the periphery of the squad - its their chance to convince Poch they could join the main squad - as well as those who didn't go to Euros and our newcomers Janssen and Wanyama.

When he gets back he's then got 2 weeks to put together most of last season's first X1 who will be half fit with the best of the 22 or so he's seen at close quarters in Oz.

If that's not good enough - blame the euros timing, not the Oz tour !

Messi is back for preseason, so when's Kane, Dier, Alli, Rose, Walker, Vertonghen, Dembele, Alderwiereld, Davies, Lloris back ?

Sure I read all the England boys are back this weekend plus Toby while Davies & Lloris get extra time as they finished later.

Verts is injured

vertonghen injured during the euros, so according to that writer's logic the club should ask our internationals to withdraw from the national teams so that our "plans" would not be disrupted lol
