I’m inclined to suggest the second half of the Villa game was the blip, not this. We’ve been pretty shaky for several games now and think we just came unstuck today. Some things aren’t working, but luckily we have options. It’s up to Ange to choose the players that deserve to play and motivate the team. I really don’t think we should be starting Johnson, I am not aboard the hype train yet, and Werner is another moderately useful dweeb. Get Richi and Bentancur back in. Would love to see more of Gio, he was cooking before his injury and is one of our more direct players.
Ultimately we need to revamp the entire attack and get top quality forwards in who can turn in consistently good performances every week. Werner, Solomon are opportunity loan/buy, we overpaid massively for Richarlison and Johnson, Deki is wildly inconsistent.

Of course, the main problem today was the total lack of effort across the whole team, which is fucking weird in and of itself.

The PL has very few easy games, but I can't reconcile the side we saw in the first ten games vs the side we saw today. It'll take Ange time, like any new manager, to get his system working properly. But it's still hard to explain what we saw today.

This may not be fair to put this on todays match forum, but its something ive been thinking about for a while and i dont like it. For me there is way too much back slapping going around. I'm aiming this mainly at the PR machine, which the club really seem to have upped this year. There's all sorts of nonsense posted on ig and now there is a club hosted 'tactical analysis' where Clive Allen or another ex-player blows smoke up our arse.

This isn't down to tactics and players not being good enough. It's the same team, set up, and game plan that smashed Villa last week. It's simply effort and desire. Thinking all you need to do is turn up, and it's bitten them thoroughly on the arse.

Totally agree. I knew there was a real possibility for complaceny after last weekend.

But surely Agne and his coaching staff should of been at them all week to ensure our intensity didnt drop off and that we wernt mentally off it

Just seems a big oversight.

Credit to Fulham, their work ethic as a collective was far superior.

What disappoints me is the whole group, including Agne, seemed to take them too lightly.

Hopefully we learn from this.

Been watching on a delayed recording. Turned it off after the 3rd went in. Absolutely shite today.

Should we be

Maddison Son Kulu
Sarr Bentancur Bissouma

Feel we need more numbers in the middle sometimes.

It seems like some of those players thought they could turn up, get the points and then off to their internationals not wanting to get injured. Awful mentality. I don’t know how you are suppose to learn from that.

Don't disagree with any of this but they need to show that they really understand it and not turn up like that again.

Wonder if the upcoming International break had anything to do with 2days malaise? Players keen to not get injured hence a lack of determination.

"The players are very down"

But will no doubt still pick up their paychecks. It does beg the question of the lack of leadership on the pitch especially on day like this. It's all very well having a happy, go lucky smiling, always upbeat personality in your side but occasionally we need a Roy Keane on the pitch. Today was one of them.

On another sober note, we have now conceded more goals than any of the other top six sides, form that would rule us out of any serious contention in any league.

Nothing to do with whether Micky plays or not but it's going to be a very interesting Summer, where a quality DM needs to be vey much on the list of incomings.

feel like we hear this from Sonny every time we lose again yet he is usually one of the biggest culprits for contributing to a half assed attitude. Actions speak louder than words mate.

How many lessons do we need before we do though, this has been going on for years, and under several managers….

We not ready for CL.... we were completely outplayed. Worst performance this season.
I said that when Wolves did the double over us the year we qualified.

We were totally ready.

We have a whole preseason before that
