I think it's the gameplan cos nothing's changing
It's absolutely the game plan.

Mind boggling when you have just had a game against united where you gain so many positives and you then seemingly totally and utterly reject that and revert to grey mode.

Baffling to see, I just don't understand what's in his head.

Paulinho played in an advanced role against United and was a revelation. Given tonight's attacking performance from Fulham I thought it was a stroke of genius on AVB's part to anticipate the necessity of two Defensive Midfielders in a holding pattern.

Paulinho had a very good first half hour against United then wasn't in the game. Playing two DM against Fulham killed our passing threat and movement from midfield putting us under pressure playing the ball out. It invited pressure on to us. We hardly looked stable with two DM's on the pitch did we, Berbatov could have had a hatrick in the first half hour. It's like starting 10 centrebacks and saying "Wow isn't it lucky we had 10 defenders on the pitch, they really came at us and spent a lot of time attacking!" "Well of course they fucking did, you set-up with 10 defenders!"

I saw the entire game thank you. I didnt see enough to support the comment that we would give chances to an under ten team...

Yes our performances need to get better, but you know what, I'll take the wins first, and the performances second at the moment...quite frankly I'll take a win over a performance EVERY time

Gorky you just don't get it do you?
The neg comments aren't about the 3 points.
We all know 3 points iz güd!
Do you honestly think that playing like this will mean 3 points every game? if so just say so.
]if not then just admit that we were POOR and you'd like to see better - start agreeing with us

Chiriches was worse than Dawson. He made two stupid fouls on their Greek guy when he was going nowhere. He was lucky not to bring on of their guys down just outside the box when he breezed past him and tackled him with the wrong foot. He left a simple cross from their right slip under his legs which thankfully Berbatov wasted. For the goal he moved to his right when there was no danger there and left Dejagah is acres of space behind him.

But hey he scored a great goal so he mustn't have been bad.

Agree he was partly guilty for their goal, didn't have any idea where his man was. That said he wasn't expected to Dawson to play a suicide ball for Paulinho to fuck about with

Cant really agree with this, simply because whatever combination we seem to put out does as badly as all the others in this respect. The whole tactical plan and what we drill into the players needs to change, rather than scrabbling around for the best personnel.

yes. yes. yes. i though he had got it through his head

one last go at inverted wingers for old time sake eh. 30mins of the game wasted, 30 mins in which we let a team devoid of confidence play their way in.

why did he get it right then revert to the proven 'wrong' formula the next week?

When Holtby scored I shouted really loudly, so loudly in fact that I think i nearly gave my Mum a heart attack. Luckily for me she didn't. It's also good that the neighbours don't live next door anymore - probably would've woken up the kid.

Do you live in the middle of a building site?

We made some great chances inside the box today, but our finishing was simply appalling. Just because we scored from shots outside doesn't mean we didn't have chances inside today.

They were from counter-attacks. The one promising development in the past 2 matches has been that we have started to counter-attack again. This may be intimately connected with the restored presence of Lennon on the right.

Counter-attacks are great, but do not bear on the issues I was highlighting: we cannot play our way through a set defence because we move the ball (and the feet) too slowly; and when we have possession in midfield, we take so long to get our attacking players into position that the defence always has time to get set.

Lamela looks good running through the middle. How can we get a message to AVB? We could still be a good team, if we just played players on form and not reputation - we need to drop Dawson and Paulinho and play Kaboul in defence and and Dembele and Sandro in the middle imo. Defoe is ok, but Soldado is better. If he won't change the formation, Lamela would still be more useful than Paulinho as the 10, he's a much better goal threat.

I think people are right to be sober about that win. Most of the chances we created were on the counter attack, or had an element of fortune.

Paulinho's one - Fulham player has shocking touch and we were well placed with three men up to break.
Defoe one on one - Long ball forward, against donkey Senderos. No skill required in move.
Lamela - Defoe outwits Senderos, does pick out Lamela, but again it was hardly much to the move.
Paulinho late in first half - Walker nicks ball high up pitch and crosses. Good pick out, woeful finish.

Its not as if we are consistently creating chances by playing through teams or opening them up, which ideally should be the case with this style of play. We aren't going to have lumbering centrebacks like Senderos to outpace every week. Performances have to get better.

This is bang on. We're still missing attacking guile and craft when we're in possession of the football in normal sort of conditions if you get my meaning, not a break away or profiting from a really bad mistake.

It sticks out like a sore thumb and I think that's why its best not to get carried away with tonight's result even though it was great to get the three points and the team dug in impressively to get that.

There is nothing wrong with our spirit, its still the way and pace we move the ball at.

See, that's what I don't get. Fans are fans forever-AVB is a hired employee.

Our fans are not penises. They support our club, and don't like what they are seeing.

Even you are not sure,"To be honest I have lots of opinions about AVB, some good and some bad" ; so why hate on people with a strong decisive opinion.

We have decent fans. That they don't agree with what they love is no reason to diss them.

Especially when they are stayers, and a manager more often than not will be a goer.

I think we all read the people saying things such as "I wish we'd lose so AVB would fuck off" or even "Go on Fulham, get another so I don't have to put up with this shit any longer"

So demonstrably not supporting our club, and clearly penises. I'd certainly hope our THFC employee manager takes the club a little more seriously despite not being a 'supporter'. I'm sure he does, but whether that can translate into success is unclear at the moment..

Paulinho and Holtby didn't have problems moving the ball forward towards the end of the game. The reason we're always bad moving the ball is that AVB never picks enough passers of ball. You have to have at least a few players passing and moving to get it going. At the moment we set up with a herd immunity to any form of passing

And i'd say that's got fuck all to do with some of the embarrassing vitriol posted in this thread tonight other than to highlight how bad it was even further.
Yeah ok I agree with that, I tend to just jump over those comments after reading the first line & just ignore them, there's no point in abusive towards AVB or players bcoz that's not been constructive criticism, it's just an easy way out & calling Andre clueless is not true but I do think he has to adjust his system to the PL

Good win, this was always going to be a tricky game with them being at home, a change of manager and a few ex spurs players on their side - despite being poor all season they were bang up for it today! We should taken the lead but finishing let us down then got caught out due to a defensive lapse but thought back to win!

Still people upset about everything, why do we believe we should just be bulldozing teams away? Any away win is good!

Paulinho must have some shooting practice
should have scored before half time

Vlad`s shot was a bit lucky and Holtby must have watched Gareth Bale

An important win on an okay day, not the best match but okay!

Hope Jan is ok!!
