Are we being linked now because he doesnt fancy the europa league with the scum, was all rosy when they were heading to the CL, but now they are back where they belong I have a feeling gooners no longer appeal and we may be a better option or a way of generating interest elsewhere?
Either way he is a player who is incredibly talented and equally inconsistent, streaky bouts of form, reminds me a bit of Lukaku, if he gets a consistent amount of games he will score planrt but there will be equally long barren spells.

I like Jesus and I also like Iheanacho I would be happy with either one personally as squad depth cover alongside to Kane.

My question would be, why would he go from City where he's used in rotation and regularly on the bench but winning trophies to join Spurs who respectfully have not won trophies but he'd be used in the exact same fashion.

He wants to know he's going to play week in and week out and he will get that at Arsenal. It isn't about whose better placed at the moment because otherwise he would stay put.

We need to get away from this sort of thinking because any striker we go for, the same argument can be made.

You can get away from this feeling if you want but it won't make a difference to Jesus, it's very specific to his situation.

Sitting on the bench at City collecting trophies or Spurs collecting dust??

It is one thing to suggest we shouldn't go after players because they wouldn't want to compete with Kane. It is another thing to question if the players themselves would consider playing second fiddle to him. Especially in scenarios like this, when a player is looking for a move in order to get more game time.

A lot of people seem to confuse the two in this thread. Sorry for singling you out here by replying to you, double0 (not trying to point fingers).

The reality is, his current situation is a backup role based on who they have today, he’s 4th choice of a front 3. With Haaland coming in, he’s just gone down to number 5 in the pecking order.
He can come to us, so he still plays CL football under an elite coach, alongside some genuine world class forwards. He isn’t going to unseat Kane or Son, possibly not Kulusevski either, but he’ll be very much in the mix for regular minutes.
Or he can go to Arsenal, not in CL, with a coach he admittedly knows, but is not elite level, and the forwards he would be playing with are not at the same level either.
Challenge versus comfort.

Also, with the 5 sub rule, i suspect we will see forwards subbed earlier and more often to keep legs fresh, etc.

The quality of Harry & Sonny might put off a few strikers... maybe just get Bale, who can fill in anywhere across the front 3,and already knows the set up here with regard to our star duo.

You mean like Jota and Diaz was put of by competing with Salah and Mane? Should be a non issue to get in quality to compete with Harry and Son if you want to be a top club, you just have to pay the wages

Yeah I was listening to a twitter group talk yesterday with people who supposedly had strong links to the club, we'll call them itk, and they were saying Son and Kane were both physically, and mentally tired at points this season, but Conte couldn't rest them because he had no back up. So it wouldn't suprise me if the fourth forward who come's in (whoever that may be), get's equivalent minutes to everyone else. He'll be far more than a back up

Fair point, but the chances of us getting 2 'ready to go' strikers are slim... Like you I would love it to happen, the lure of CL and top wages might help, but Jesus already has that at City. Interesting times, and I'm glad that Spurs are in the mix for top signings. COYS.

Conte starts Kane/Son/Kulu every game because we’ve only had one game a week for a while, and he estimates that there is too big of a drop off to the next players. IF Gabriel Jesus is someone he wants then you’d have to think he’s first rotation for all 3 spots and Conte will be far more willing to give him starts to rest some of those guys. With CL and cups, he could easily start 25+ games for us. If there’s any long term injury it would be even more. Although his stats for Man City are similar, the arrival of Haaland will surely decrease that. 13 starts at CF could become closer to 0. Sterling may go but Man City will continue to buy people.

PL - 21 starts, 7 sub appearance ( 13 CF,12 RW)
CL - 3 starts, 5 sub appearances
Cups - 4 starts, 1 sub appearance

I’d really like this one. I recall really liking Jesus in the Man City Amazon doc. Seems like the kind of player who’d run through a wall for Conte.

I like the player and would love him for squad depth, but as has been said many times before in this thread why would u leave City’s bench for ours? He clearly wants first team football which he won’t get here

Personally I can’t see him going anywhere other then Arsenal as he is supposedly their primary target to become their main no 9. But we shall see.
