I wonder if this could be the limelight that saves him? If i was a Twatterer i'd subscribe to him just to help fill that massive gap in his life for attention that, i suspect, is one of the reasons he went off the rails, along with many other ex-footballers.

Lets not beat about the bush, he was one of the most naturally talented players i've ever seen in our colours, he played with a flair and a grin that you don't often see nowadays.

I really hope and pray this ends well for him and gives him the attention he needs.

What could possibly go wrong ....

I've followed him and I'm hoping for the best, so much love for him.

I think you may have missed the point and the last 20 years, Gazza is a bit fragile and has a few problems.
Indeed. Twitter brings out the absolute worst in the scummiest of people. This is one of the things that could tip him over the edge completely.

You're talking bollocks. We're going to spank Germany and get to the final and he'll sail through with no tears.

Given that this is a man who thought it was a good idea to go and have a word with Raoul Moat armed with a couple of beers and some fishing rods, I'm not sure having the ability to make public his every thought will have a happy ending.

Am I the only one thinking about him posting complete drunken bollocks at some point, much like we all do on Facebook or text messages to ex's on a night out?

I love Gazza, he was my hero as a kid and I really hope he gets through his problems but this could go either way...it could and should be a great way for people to give him the support he needs, but on the flipside if he returns to the booze it could be a way for him to have another spectacular public breakdown. I really hope it's not the latter.

Yep I agree with this

I know fairly balanced people who have had to quit twitter due to abuse

I doubt this will end well. Need an extraordinarily thick skin to be famous on there
