what im saying though neville is - why does he deserve a run? why not give falque a run? or ceballos? or one of the youngsters? GDS has been here for a few years now and hasnt impressed enough to get a run. Most of the GDS lovers claim this is because Harry hates him etc but the fact he was on the bench today dispells that myth. If he was good enough, he would/will get a chance and if he is good enough he will take that chance. So far in his career he hasnt taken the chances he has been given hence why his career to date has been a story of underachievement and disappointment.

Guys, this is a ridiculous debate

No one can say either way

Harry should give him a proper run to see what he can do

Again, its not a case of playing him to see what he can do.
In training he trains/plays so Harry can see what he can do, in a game he would be played as Harry thinks he can do a job.

So we ignore what Gio and Harry tell us, but listen to ITK. Makes sense I suppose.

He was available (and with a small fee) yet no1 took him - i dont get whats so hard to understand about this. No club was willing to take the risk on this supposed star player.

Gio said he was all set to join Sevilla then Harry stopped the deal from happening. Harry confirmed this on 5live and said he's stil a part of his plans. How does that translate into no team willing to take a risk on him?

 spot on. People seem to think training is irrelevant and that Harry only picks players he likes (and apparently he has it in for GDS). I remember people used to say the same about Kranjcar, but since then he has been given a chance (blowing away the myth about harrys favourites) and he has been very disappointing this season.

Scored a massive 0 goals and got an amazing 0 assists though but this seems to have been forgotten as he was voted 2nd best young player in the tournament. An award based over 4 games when he contributed nothing to any goal seems to be a pretty lame way of promoting the guy, but then if im honest - he hasnt done anything else so people need this to hang on to!

I'm agreeing with you, but the boy has shown glimpses of real talent.

I hope it works out for him at Spurs, but I've never disagreed with Harry's policy of leaving him out either.

Please link me to where harry said this (if he said it on 5 live i would like a direct link please). As well as this, i would expect GDS to be involved regularly from here on in then (clearly he wont be when the other 9 players return from injury).

I agree with you, but he was pretty good in the World Cup (unless I'm remembering it wrong).

You're not. He finished runner up to Thomas Mueller for young player of the tournament. I'd also class Sevilla and Udinese as big clubs.

So he looked good for a Mexico side that made it to the Last 16 in the worst World Cup ever, losing to a frankly crap Argentina.

Wow.

why didnt udinese and seville buy him then? he was available, wanted to move and was cheap but no1 was willing to take the risk. Those are the cold hard facts of the situation - Seville and Udinese (according to ITK were interested and the odd rumour column) didnt want to take the risk on him though which says SO SO SO much.

Why do people keep bringing this up? Its been covered before.

Udinese offered £10m (Euros?) but he wanted to go back to Spain. Sevilla seemingly tried to do a Chelski on us (make it a one team market) but it didn't work.

According to Gio we pulled out of a potential deal with Sevilla, where and how does risk fit into that?

We get it, your not impressed by him, move on.

Another 1 agreeing - i like! He definately has shown talent - however there is clearly something holding the guy back hence why Barca got rid so cheap and hence why he hasnt played more for us and hence why he wasnt taken in the summer when available. Excuses continue to flood in but those are the facts.

I would love GDS to be a success for us and i was delighted when we signed him but im getting bored of hearing how its harrys fault that he hasnt been a success etc.

Fact or rumour? this is the issue. If GDS would rather be a bit part player at best at spurs rather than a regular at udinese then that also speaks volumes.

This is pointless anyway - im still awaiting the day that GDS produces so please GDS lovers, come back to me when he produces it on a regular basis against decent opposition. Facts are there whether the lovers want to see them or not

Let's hope he now buckles down in training and shows a better attitude. I would expect him to play in the upcoming Europa League game along with Pav, Livermore, Gomes or Cudicini and Bassong. Townsend to come off the bench.

One of the reason was he was part of the brazilian contingent at barca who where partying all the time, with Ronaldinho always playing the drums

yeah ive heard that rumour - doesnt appear that he has changed either.

Either way - he was the 1 who was let go for a ridiculously cheap price based on the "hype" that followed his apparent talent.

Was Harry right to keep Bale out for so long? Despite his class performances for Wales?

Did Boateng prove his quality in getting a transfer to AC Milan?

Just because Harry doesn't pick someone doesn't mean they won't make it

Very disappointed to see a young player with so much natural talent written off.

1 - yes - he nurtured him and last season was voted player of the year
2 - Ac milan are a poor side so not really worth debating surely

You are right though about if harry dont pick them - but its not just harry is it.

Juanque wrote Boateng off, not Harry. Quite apart from that, about 95% of SC decided he was shit, beginning with his debut in Cyprus.

No-one's writing off dos Santos, just pointing out that what he's done for Mexico and Racing has only limited relevance. What he's done for Spurs is all that matters, and he hasn't done that much.

When is it going to sink in that international performances mean fuck all?
