Lennon can turn in a half dozen woeful games, yet GDS doesn't supply on the spot a game winning contribution and he's shit. Chuck me your logic and I will skew it.

If you read my posts you will know that I never said he would.

What I'm saying is that he's not had enough games to be written off.

The talent is obvious. What he lacks is maturity and that should come with age and also experience.

I'm not writing him off. I'm saying that what I've seen of him in competitive games for Spurs has failed to convince me, which is a different matter entirely.

It's safe to say GDS hasn't really had any impact on the club. We don't really know what he could do for us. His lack of game-time can't simply be a lack of discipline; he hasn't performed in his loan moves either.

He probably has a torrid time adapting to club football life, gets isolated in the dressing room and doesnt have the brains to handle it. I feel bad for him.

All the GDS "talent doubters." Firstly, the guy has played 6 games worth of minutes here, mostly spread out- not exactly gotten a "chance." So I can see why you may doubt his talent. HOWEVER, I will not accept you being lazy and not having seen him enough as the basis for an argument.

Watch some Mexico games. Re-Watch some Racing games. I've got highlights if you need them. The guy has talent. I'm from the U.S. and while I readily admit our defense is shit, he tore it up. Oh, and I'm pretty sure that finishing 2nd in the "best young player" award at the World Cup behind the guy who was the top scorer of the tournament means he's talentless too.

Get real. I'm not saying that he is the second coming or anything but is simply preposterous to write him off until he gets an actual chance. VDV's role at PAOK this Thursday anyone?

And we will not accept you ignoring his attitude, his drinking, his missing training, his turning up late.

What he does for Mexico is irrelevant, it is what he does in the Premier League that counts and when he has been on the field he hasn't looked as if he is up to the standard.

I hope he comes good which could happen if his attitude changes, maybe Becks can help him there?

Darren Bent was first given a cap for England on the right but it was obvious that he didn't have the required quality for international football, he has played more games but still just does not look international class. My point is that it doesn't matter where you play, in or out of position, you can tell whether they can cut it just by watching them.

He has time to grow up and develop, the Europa League will be his training ground now that Harry has thrown him an olive branch.

But he has. At Ipswich he did well, yes a lower standard but he was still new to the country. At Racing he did so well that the manager wanted to take him to Sevilla with him. The only time he failed was with Galatasaray but no one knows just how many minutes he played, you can look at his wiki page for Spurs and see that he's done nothing in 21 games but realistically it's only around 6 full games combined in 3 years.

Fair enough

With an average of about 3 appearances per season in the premiership (some as sub), I hope you are still willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Can you tell me how good I would like you to believe he is ? How shit would you have us believe he is ?

He was 19 when he left Barca. They also let Fabregas go when he was a teenager, does that mean he's shit too ?

He has performed well for us, on more than one of his, what, half dozen appearances.

So if a big club doesn't come in for a player he's shit ? Did any come in for any of our players bar Modric ?

He was (FIFA) nominated as one of the best 3 young players in the last world cup.

I would have you believe that, compared to other players in our squad, he has definitely been worth more of a chance than he has been given to prove that he could be a viable squad member. Players like Defoe, Lennon, Bale, Pav etc have all been allowed many, many shit performances without being ostracised in the same way.

the fact you think this shows your knowledge so if its okay i wont bother reading the rest of your post or responding to it.

If Gio is as useless/has a poor attitude/partys too much/ as many here claims, I can't understand why the club have not just released him from his contract. Surely Spurs can buy him out and tell him he's no longer welcome? Why keep him?

Priceless comment! Yeah because spurs dont rate him (how many games have we given him? think that kind of suggests we dont rate him doesnt it? and aint spurs the ones who see him day in day out, rather than a few you tube clips, and a few performances in inferior leagues and agaisnt inferior countries?) we should buy out his contract!

but anyway - so why dont we just buy out his contract? deary deary me. Judging on that comment alone, i am going to suggest to you that you may need to go and complete your homework ready for school tomorrow.

Just to give you an answer for that 1 - if we pay out the money then we will lose money. GDS has a value without doubt and so if we sell for say say 2 million then we will have gained 2 million. If we just buy out his contract (for arguement sake lets say its 1 million) then we will lose 3 million (1 million to buy out his contract and we ll miss out on 2 million fee). I cant believe that isnt the most obvious thing in the world.

Ouch, that's a shockingly awful comparison BC.

Firstly, you don't have to be arrogant.

Secondly, I realise we will lose money if we buy him out, I'm not stupid. But if Gio is as useless as many here say and has a poor attitude, surely him being in the squad makes more damage to the team and the club than taking an economical hit?

Apologise if came across arrogant - it just seemed like a pretty silly question to me. He may have a poor attitude but Levy is a businessman and we all know that money comes first with him. I hope GDS gets his head down and produces, i really do!

You had your warning from the mods so stop trying to ruin a thread because i made you look silly last week by ripping your made up stats to bits re Walcott. Not responding to you anymore so you are wasting your time.

mods - please do something about this clown.

You've reported me for a post you made, that's a new one. I wasn't aware there was a time limit on posts before they're no longer relevant. Guess I should consult the SC rulebook.

Gio Gio! on topic Gio!
