Hello All.

Just after a bit of advice really........

I am making an effort to come to more games, my own football commitments mean i can really only goto sunday games , plus midweek.
I already have tickets for blackburn and everton games booked.

I live on the south coast by brighton and i am wondering what sort of timescales and the best way to travel to whl and back again? I was thinking just to victoria and then the victoria line to SS and walk from there? Is that best?
How are things normally after the game in getting back out of the area etc back to victoria? is it best to head back to SS and then down to victoria again?

Any help / advce would be good!!

Thanks in advance

You can go to Liverpool ST and hget the overground to Northumberland Park and walk. or like you said; go to SS and either walk or get a bus.

The victoria line is very fast.

Holmesy,

I live in Victoria, and provided there is no engineering works that close the vic line down, the best route is on the vic line.

It takes about 25 minutes on the tube, then about a 20 minute walk from SS.

After the game, you may have to wait five minutes at the station, but I am always home about an hour after leaving the ground. Unless I go to the pub of course.

If the vic line is down, go from Victoria to South Ken, piccadilly line up to finsbury park, then a 259 bus which will drop you off outside WHL. Add another 25 minutes to your journey time.

Many thanks for all the replys!
bit concerned about midweek games as the last train out of victoria is 23:17? would that be tight or should it still be ok?

thanks

You'll be fine, unless they go to extra time and penalties.

Just have to walk a bit faster, or catch a bus from WHL to SS to save a few minutes.

Brighton to Victoria. Vic Line to Tottenham Hale. Overland from Tottenham Hale to Northumberland Park (one stop). Easy peasy. Should be able to do it in under 2 hours, providing there are no delays.

azrael, that sounds like a good idea! i'm not a keen walker! :)

i am guessing northumberland park gets heaving after FT? Do the trains run regularily between there and tottenham hale?
If i need to walk to seven sisters i don't mind cos i have done it before

Thanks

I'm going to the match tomorrow, but i'm going to a friends house after in Cheshunt, can I get there from Northumberland Park? I normally go back to Liverpool Street, but does the opposite platform have trains going to Cheshunt?

Tom 1882 - One stop on the fast train which goes to Cheshunt, Broxbourne and on to Stansted via Bishop's Stortford.

20 minutes otherwise mate, train will be packed though.

Cheers Rupstoh,

Just checked TFL, looks like there's a 19.45 from Northumberland Park to Chesthunt, takes 9 mins, Don't know how reliable the trains are going that way though.

Why not go from White Hart Lane station to Cheshunt? - much shorter walk and no queue to get on platform when going that way (out of London). Obviously check times though, and be careful which train you jump on - they don't all go to Cheshunt from that platform.

I've not got a clue about whats the best way to go to be honest, I live in Stifford, so it's all new for me travelling the other way. You reckon it's best to go White Hart Lane first then?

Just checked....

Looks like the same train gets to WHL at 7.36, how come it takes 9 minutes longer from WHL to Northumberland Park? 7.36 is a bit of a push though I reckon, I've never used WHL Station so wouldnt know the quickest way to walk there coming from Paxton stand, always use Northumberland Park.
