Sorry, disagree totally about this taking it easy in the league and giving fringe players like Taarabt a run in the side. We took just eight points from our last six games, which, frankly, isn't good enough, and I'd imagine Juande sees it that way too. We've got six very winnable games coming up and I want us going all out for maximum points.

And risk injury to our top players who we'll need in the UEFA cup? I know our league position isn't the best but the way the league is now, we're not likely to move too much further up there as all the sides above us continue winning. Can't see any harm in giving the squad players a run tbh.

Agree with SS57. I guarantee that Ramos is in no way going to take it easy in the league. He'll have Wet Spam in his sights for sure (quite a gap to make up).

He'll be gutted with a bottom half finish and see this as winnable.

Pleased to see a headline earlier referring to an injury crisis at Birmingham though.

half and half in terms of the cup winning team and the fringe players probably

ramos is not the type of manager to let the players take the league for granted now

gilberto to spank home a winner

Isn't it about £0.8million per league position, I'm sure Levy would be pushing for as higher league finish as possible.

I think a balanced approach to the league is the key.

On the one hand, it needs to be taken seriously, as if we don't get much further in the Wafer Cup having thrown in the towel in the league, then a season when we've finished bottom half and won the league cup is still not a very good season.

On the other hand, now the Wafer becomes the priority, and so we should be weary of risking key players in league games of lesser importance, especially the likes of Woody and Ledley.

I'd expect to see us continue the same sort of policy we've had in the run-up to Sunday. i.e resting 2 or 3 players each league game (King, one of Keane and Berba and one of our first choice midfielders). But JR will be hugely aware that good form in the league could play a big part in us getting ast sides like PSV in Europe, so we wont take any game too easy.

Hopefully Bent will start scoring tho if he's gonna be given regular starts in the league.

Fair point, but we'll probably only be able to get to 9th in the league the way it stands if we have a really strong finish to the season. That's £1.6m extra that we stand to gain on the 11th place that we're in now. I don't have the figures, but surely going the whole way in the UEFA cup would be worth much more to the club than that?

If they keep on winning there's nothing we can do about it, but they won't; for starters, City look like they're going into freefall and Blackeye are stuttering badly. If we put in a run to match last season's record-equaller others may crack. Another fifth place is probably beyond us; sixth or seventh most certainly isn't.

'Audi est Facere'—remember that one? Spurs say No to Benitez-style fannying about!

Actually I don't think it is, I'm sure we much make more money from UEFA cup gate receipts than prize money.

I hope so, but wouldn't it be nice to put another page in the UEFA Cup history book, Tottenham Hotspur - 2007/2008 UEFA Cup winners? That's more likely to be remembered than a 7th place finish in the league. And it IS on, we're second favourites for a reason, because Bayern Munich are the only side left that are stronger than us and we showed on Sunday that we're not afraid of the so called "big" teams any more. Next years UEFA cup might be tougher, it might be easier but we have a very good chance this year to win it outright.

Team v Brum
Robbo
Hutton Woodgate Dawson Y.P.Lee
Lennon Boateng Huddlestone O'Hara
Berbatov Bent

Team v PSV
Robbo
Chimbonda Woodgate King Gilberto
Lennon Jenas Zokora Malbranque
Berbatov Keane

So only Robbo, Berba, Lennon and Woodgate start both games. If we are beating brum we can take lennon and berba off early. However the Brum game won't be easy

One other reason that hasnt been mentioned why I believe the team will be going all out for win, they are playing for their places. I am not talking about UEFA cup final (if we reach it) I am talking bout next season where I am sure that Ramos will be rebuilding. I am sure there are certain players who are worried, irrespective of how well they are doing now.

Any news about Keano hamstring? He tweaked it a bit on Sunday didnt he and that why he came off. I'm sure this means he'll miss Saturday's game but hopefully he'll be ok for PSV.
