After Dos santos showing at the gold cup he def deserves a chance at spurs but the idiot redknapp will not play him.
The boy has mercurial talent and you can see by the goal he scored against the USA that he could be one hell of a player?
Redknapp aka droopy has already made a mistake with Taraabt lets hope he gives GIO a chance.

I never slag off our players, but GDS had a blinding WC last year then came back to Spurs and did fuck all. Every single time he's played in a competitive match, he's been really poor. He even admitted that his social life had got the better of him. There's still a good player in there somewhere but it sure as he'll hasn't shown itself at Spurs. He needs a change. But if blaming Harry for Gio's lifestyle makes you feel better, then go for it.

Ahhh, it's No.3 in SCs all-time greatest repetitive themes, list (For those of you who may be interested No.1 is Hairy RatMuff is shi'ite, I could do better myself, and No. 2 is It's no good, were just lil'ol' Tott'Nam, we're shi'ite, we'll always be a feeder club for really big, traditional clubs like Chelsea and Citeh).

Gio deserves a second chance:
Pros - he displays moments of brialliance, usually in big tournaments.
Cons - he has a very poor reputation in terms of long-term application, reaction to discipline, and relationship with alcohol (I have no idea if these are factored into ChampMan as I've never played the game).

For the record, I would love it if he were given a second chance, and he turns out to be phenomenal, as the boy clearly has talent. But he doens't seem to have done himself any favours. And I have said that every single time someone decideshe shuld be given another chance after a moment of brilliance in a big tournament (seriously, he must be doing something wrong, right:shrug:).

All this nonsense about social life is bollox , GIO has never had a fair crack of the whip and he has played a few good games for us. Harry just does not like him. I think he is decent and def a good back up for VDV.

All of this nonsense about social life is not 100% nonsense - we all know he has been pictured absolutely plastered.
You do realise ITK has to be posted in the ITK Read Only thread:shrug:

Thats a bit ironic aint it? saying harry made a mistake yet making this thread only 4 threads above the GDS/gold cup thread???

Love how harry has made a mistake with Taraabt btw - the Taraabt who has performed well in the championship and who cant start for his national side (Morocco) due his inability to play as part of a team (as his club manager and numerous team mates also pointed out).

But yeah, GDS is a world class superstar - any player that scores a goal in the gold cup against the USA must be given a chance. I may have to scout you tube for wonder goals and then email spurs insisting we sign them all.............

so has ledley king and vdv

yet both of them have had great careers and have good reputations wherever they have gone. i havent heard stories about either of them regularly missing training etc either. but of course its nothing to do with this - its simply because "harry doesnt like him"

No4 on the all-time SC mythologies list - anyone who disagress with me thinks Redknapp is the Messiah.

Get a grip FFS - I will be critical of him as and when I see the need.
Over GDS and Adel Taraabt I just do not see the need.
The notion that Redknapp is obsessed with older players has been disproven in tabular form.
 I don't read Newspapers...full stop (oh how these trite, but, somehow, demeaning triusms trip from your tongue:duh:).

Ledley is always plastered in faces and my point is just because a player goes out from time to time that has nothing to do with ability, its up to the manager to motivate him.

nothing like trying to put words in peoples mouth hey! did i ever say he wasnt good? or that gio was useless? or did i comment about you saying harry made a mistake? surely you wait until he cuts it at the top before making that kind of comment? Its like saying spurs messed up selling Ramon Vega, as he went to Scotland won a league title!!!

i laugh at how the pro GDS posters on here simply try to put words in others mouths and argue to make their point. as people keep saying - he hasnt made it anywhere he has gone and his only good performances have been against low level opposition (Preston, Doncaster), pre season friendlys and against weak international opposition (goals against Costa Rica, Venezuela, Haiti, USA). He hasnt played many PL games for spurs but the ones he has played he has been poor hence why he wasnt kept in the side.

When he produces it on the big stage then point it out - but to date, he has done absolutely nothing. (i look forward to a patronising rude reply as there is no substance to back your point up)

The one picture I recall was from the club Christmas party years ago, King has been pictured plastered more than that yet doesn't seem to receive such criticism from fans or disdain from Redknapp for it. Must be something more going on with Gio but there is no real prrof that it is a lack of effort in training, you only have to look at Redknapp's treatment of Kranjcar to see that sometimes h justt makes up his mind and refuses to budge.

Rose has been given an opportunity and now looks likely to be a regular squad player.

Bostock hasn't managed to impress in numerous loans out in the Championship and we are well stocked in his position, so far he hasn't earned the right to be picked ahead of the senior players and we haven't had an injury crisis big enough to warrant dropping him in the deep end.

Kane is still very young and only just beginning his competitive career in loan spells, still has to play a bit and prove himself at Championship level before he is anywhere near being ahead of even Keane.

Gio I agree, Redknapp just doesn't seem to like him, doubt he will ever be given a proper run at Spurs. People defend Redknapp by saying he has had his chances and never impressed enough but I really don't think the few opportunities he has been given are a fair crack.

I don't think Redknapp is incapable of blooding young players, but at Spurs he has much less need to than anywhere he has managed before, so he doesn't seem to bother until thhere is no alternative, which is what happened with Bale and more recently Rose. In fairness to him though, these youngsters can't just expect to be picked based solely on being young and hyped up, they need to be proving it out on loan, in training and the rare opportunities they get at Spurs.

He quite rightly stated that our youngsters need to bee tearing it up whilst out on loan in the hampionship, otherwise they have no chance of making it at Spurs. Should be interesting to see how Caulker and Walker are handled over the next couple of seasons, I'd begin to worrry if he doesn't give them some chances as they have ben impressiing for 2 years now.
