Whenever I have seen people get taken in for drink driving the police have left the car where ever they find it.

Watch road wars  All the time they are taking peoples cars - the other day 1 of them took a Ferrari back to the station!

As i said earlier, what would happen if someone was caught on the motorway? It depends on the situation and the where the person is caught - but the police CAN take seize and drive anyones cars.

I always thought that they left the car where it was and when you were released it's your responsibility to arrange collection of it. I always thought that they only drove it to the nearest safe area if it was in a dangerous or illegaly parked position.

I may be mistaken, but back in my day I was only ever allowed to reposition. It may be different for advanced drivers. I haven't dealt with traffic for nearly 5 years. So apologies if I am feeding duff info.

Cops on Road Wars are all traffic police, so they are allowed to drive stuff that the average bobby cannot. However there are not too many of them on Holloway Road. Anyway, apologies for my initial dismissive tone.

However, if this happened last monday, I would fully expect it to have been in the press by now!

Hey Pringle could you not ask your copper m8 if Gio was nicked? If he's right next to you get him on the 2 way, CQDX and all that

Yeah on Road Wars / Police Interceptors they always drive the cars back, but then they're obviously all trained for it. Maybe they roped one of them in to do so as I imagine leaving an expensive car lying around is just asking for trouble.

I do wonder how often a player is 'injured' when really he is getting disciplined for off the field antics, and the club dont want him to get a reputation because they either dont want the pressure on the player or they dont want to affect the player's sale value.

How can you do 100mph up Holloway road? I don't think I've ever been within 90mph of that:)

I got done for drink driving once and they just left the car on the side of the road. It ended up getting towed.

I got off the charge though and they had to refund me for the tow away.

Definitive answer -

An advanced police driver can drive the vehicle. A standard response driver can only reposition.

Most will leave it at the side of the road though.
