What exactly is his contract situation with us. Has he only got a year remaining or a year + a option of another one?
There is no question over this guys talent, potential talent at all, what is in question is his application..
Not sure I agree with all of this. I agree that he doesn't apply himself properly, but I don't think he's all that talented personally. Is, for example, his final ball nearly good enough? Is his dribbling good enough? They're both quite good, and he's got a nice (if inconsistent) shot on him, but I don't think his all round game is that strong.
I guess my main issue with him though is that while he's pretty good technically, he just doesn't understand how to actually play football in a mature manner.
He'll never be a very intelligent footballer IMO, which in of itself isn't a show stopper, but I don't think he's talented enough not to be.

he didn't seem to play for mexiko in the semi-final win last night - only watched the second half myself...
Yeah he played until about half time, muscle strain i think was quoted as to why he was subbed.
may be.His agent has confirmed he may be part of a deal for Julio Cesar. Anyone got any good suggestions of a replacement right winger? I'm struggling to think of any!
Well, you've assembled a great many facts about dos Santos before he joined Spurs, but very few about what happened subsequently. 'None of us knows what happened,' you say. Quite.
You've rather misrepresented what happened with Boateng. It was Ramos who froze him out completely and didn't even give him a squad number for 08-09; his relationship with the club was probably fractured beyond repair when Harry took over. (He was also getting almost universally rubbished in Spurs Chat, remember.) Campbell was actually a more effective player than dos Santos in the 08-09 season, starting with Ramos' bringing him on in dos Santos' place against Wisla. Given that the best one could say of Campbell was that he always showed plenty of enthusiasm and ran around a lot, that's not a huge recommendation for GdS. And again, looking at dos Santos' first-class career, internationals excluded, it's not been spectacular.
Yes but why say internationls excluded ? They should be very much included because that is where he has been selected regularly and where he has delivered the goods. In contrast to his time with us where he is barely selected let alone regularly. In a 4-3-3 we need our wide players to score and i think he is more likely to score than Lennon given an extended run. Lennon is always injured for part of the season and when that happens i don't see anyone in our squad who is more capable than GDS. What would you do ? Put VDV there ? That doesnt work because he contributes little from there . Townend ? Jenas ? Livermore ? Plus if I'm not mistaken GDS can play as back up to VDV behind the striker ( assuming we have one ) in a 4-4-1-1 or alongside someone like Ade in a 4-4-2. I just dont see any need to sell him.

The future of two of the stars of the Premier League Mexican uncertain walks and playing in the next few days on the island where Mexico won its Olympic gold. El Chicharito Hernandez is also complicated by competition from strikers at Manchester United. For Giovani dos Santos , Olympic champion, the reality is that finally leave behind its phase at Tottenham, turned into a nightmare last season.
Javier Hernandez , after a bad year, both personally and collectively (the Manchester United lifted the Community Shield over) just got in the locker room a striker, Robin Van Persie, who has high competition and it is safe which to pair with Wayne Rooney in attack of the 'Red Devils'.
A Giovani little time left on the island or at least with the Spurs, but his jump to the continent seems assured after the negotiations are taking place with several clubs, with Sevilla Spanish and Italian Inter as interested suitors. His contract ends next year and renewal is unthinkable. Or Tottehnham sold before 31 August or end up losing a handful of millions of pounds.
