Tottenham and Arsenal are ready to battle for exciting Juventus attacker Sebastian Giovinco, according to reports in Italy.

The bitter north London rivals have both been searching Europe for forwards and after being alerted to the 27-year-old’s availability are both now considering making a move.

Giovinco, who as a youngster was tipped as the next Alessandro Del Piero, has struggled for game time at the Serie A champions with him playing just 570 minutes of first-team football last season.

The Italian club still rate the player and will try and persuade Giovinco, who came through the youth academy, to stay but the player. The player, though, is keen for a fresh challenge and wants to play in the Premier League, according to SportItalia.

Giovinco has alerted interest from other Premier League outfits and has indicated to Juventus he wants a move before the transfer window shuts.

Spurs struggled in attack last season with Roberto Soldado only scoring six goals in the league, while Arsenal’s title challenge fell apart largely due to their over-reliance on Olivier Giroud who struggled in the second half of the season

No way I would want him in a Spurs shirt. He is useless, very very slight and extremely overrated.

Rubbish. Don't think he's good enough for Juve, let alone Spurs. Wouldn't suit the Premiership, wouldn't suit Pochettino either. Doesn't work hard for a start. This is just weak journalism, as per usual.

He is very good but can be wasteful.

Height isn't a requirement in a game where the ball spends most of its time on the ground. We are Tottenham Hotspur not San Antonio Spurs
