btw, are you really mean he is 'World Class' one now ? if this ture, I hope to get him.

Of course, like all people I can make a mountain out of a molehill when it comes to players.

But I watch this kid and I will say, that other than the experience, he is equal to Kahn or Lehmann right now.

Here's an example. He was playing against Karlsruhe recently. In this game he had 4 or 5 mind blowing saves, including one off the line in the dying moments that was pure reaction. Everyone was talking about that performance, but the play that I remembered was something most didn't get.

Tomas Hajnal, who is a decent little player for KSC, picks up the ball on the right about 20 yards out and lets loose as nobody has closed down on him. He does everything right on this shot. He shoots it across the goalmouth forcing Adler to dive and he makes sure to bounce it close to the goalmouth. Adler doesn't just dive left and get a hand on the ball, he dives left and parries the ball away before it can hit the ground, which is the point that it could do anything. It was a save good keepers don't make. And it was so inconspicous that most missed it. But it takes a special talent to read a dipping ball crossing goal mouth and to dive at the angle to hit the ball before it becomes an even greater threat. Especially at full speed.

Is he world class in the vain of Buffon or Casillas....not yet. But he is in my estimation the best keeper in the Bundesliga (and it's stacked with good keepers) and he will be the 2nd or 3rd best keeper in the EPL the minute someone snaps him up.

It is clear that we need (at least) a new number 1 GK for next season. Who would he be...I really don't know! From the options given I've seen only James enough and I doubt we won't even concider signing him and are looking for a longer term option. Althought he has played very well during the last couple of seasons.

According to what I've read and heard about Alnwick, I think he could be number 2. Haven't seen him playing though...

kameni has all the attributes we need more so the way he takes the pressure off when he takes crosses and is a very good shot stopper from close and long range which seems to be a problem for our keepers

It's still possible Robbo might do enough to keep his place before the end of the season (but a bit unlikely) given how hard it is to bring in a top keeper.

The one thing that bothers me is that SAF and Whinger are potentially both on the look-out in the summer. With the lure of CL football they'll probably get their man which takes a couple of the best candidates out of the market....

United will have Foster fit for next season, if Sir alex goes and buys another first choice keeper then Foster could be our answer.

From the Deadwood for Freshwood thread:

Neuer would never leave Schalke though, not even if they were forced to go down three levels.
He was born in Schalke, is a member of a Schalke ultra group and has Schalke tattoos all over his body. That boy is the biggest fan of the team he plays for.
He's living the dream.

From the Deadwood for Freshwood thread:

Did notice him kissing the badge after he saved one of the pen's, guess he did actually mean it though! What a performance last night, some of the saves were Schmeichel esque.

I didn't watch last night, but I have seen Neuer 4 times recently and he has been directly responsible for 3 goals conceded. He was beaten by a long range free kick (similar to Seaman against Ronaldinho), a cross/shot from long range, given away a penalty and fumbled another shot straight in front of goal, but got away with it. Apparently he has been great at times for them and last night sounds like one of them, but those sort of mistakes would have people gathering their pitch forks. I have only seen Adler a couple of times, but again he has fumbled the ball in front of goal on two occassions. He does look to have top notch reactions.

I seem to bring a curse on goalkeepers when I watch them even Buffon, Landreau, Gomes and Frey have made mistakes. The most impressed I have been was Handanovic for Udinese and Rubinho for Genoa with Mandanda for Marseille just behind. I have only seen them once each though so wouldn't say it was anywhere near conclusive. Wiese gave away a penalty, but saved it in one of the two games I have seen him play, other than that he has looked reasonably solid. I have seen Stekelenburg 3 times and he has shown me nothing to make me want him. Kameni is on this weekend so will have a look. The trouble is with goalkeepers you need to watch so many games just to see various situations come up even once and then it comes down to how consistently they deal with various situations.

I was for a while thinking Igor Akinfeev would live up to his early promise but right now he's only 3rd choice for the national team.
It really is hard to say who would be best for Spurs though of "realistic" targets. Of the names mentioned my first choices would be Amelia or Adler; Neuer, Kameni being my 2nd choices.
Here's a list of golies that have been linked with Spurs since the August window closed:

Iker Casillas, Andrés Palop, Santiago Cañizares
Marco Amelia, Carlo Cudicini, Emiliano Viviano
Oscar Ustari
Artur Boruc
Ben Foster, Scott Carson, David James, Robert Green, Joe Lewis
Peter Brezovan
Manuel Neuer
Samir Handanovic
Jussi Jääskeläinen, Antti Niemi
Carlos Kameni
Steve Mandanda,
Yohann Pelé, Cedric Carrasso
Maarten Stekelenburg, Piet Velthuizen
Rune Jarstein, Håkon Opdal
Craig Gordon

I really hope Kameni will be the goalkeeper for us next season. I think he is one of the best goalkeepers avalible for us. He is only 24 years old, and a keeper who suits into our already talented squad.

I really don't know because I haven't seen enough of any of them playing, but I like the sound of Kameni just because he's crazy like a fox.
