I'm with DC. You have to vote for the quality of the goal and that's it. Plus we were minutes away from going out and when Berba stepped up and volleyed it home, I went crazy. Keane's was great but the techinque of Berba's was definitely better. Did like Steed's and Defoe's from City game as the latter disproves the silly notion that Jenas cannot create and Lennon cannot cross.

well said CB - and the other Berbs voters ;-)

Keane's goal was top drawer but 'routinely brilliant' - we see them quite often on MOTD goal of the month comps. the ball has run sweetly for the striker, there's a space top corner and it's curled home - tremendous but fairly commonplace (at the level of goal of he month contenders)

but Berbs - different level - to even get a volley like that on target is good - to smash it in at such a crucial time - simply sensational as I'm sure Hansen would say - and I reckon ole Hansen & Shearer would both give Berbs the vote - and yes I am biased

You are rightly biased though. Was a much better goal. I think most people could score a goal like Keane's, whereas very players in the world could do what Berbatov did.

I think i'd have to go for Keano's equalizer against Chelsea, that was so sweetly struck and had me half out of my chair every time i even watch the replay. Berbatov's volley against PSV was outstanding too though... still go with Keano :up:

Berbatov vs PSV was the best goal of the season, and it was also, at the time, a crucial goal with time running out, which makes it more impressive. That we went out on penalties doesn't make it less of a goal.
