Im gonna stick my neck out and say that there is only one Goal of the season. The goal that changed everything and gave me a sense of pride, belief and determination that I'd almost forgotton as a Spurs supporter. The goal that I will never forget.

It was 22 January 2008 (My birthday!!). Half-time comes and goes and im sat in a packed Sportsbar in Central London with 3 gooners and a yid (plus a guy from yorkshire who claimed that his grandfather played for spurs..tommy something, cant remember). Everyone is either wearing white, red or works in the place, (one guy wearing a Cameroon shirt after their 4-1 defeat to egypt earlier that day)

I remember thinking as the second half kicked off, we've been here so many times over the last...well since I can remember. (I can hear swirling voices in my head, "spurs can never kill of a game"..."spurs always bottle it"). This is the moment where it always goes pearshaped and like so many occasions we let Arsenal back into a match after dominating for 45 splendid minutes. So much hope, so much fear!!

All of a sudden Steed wins it back, a neat flick inside from Berba and Lennon turns and plays a flighted ball with the outside of his right foot between two defenders in red. They cant get to it!! Its through the middle!! And someone is chasing after it...who is it?? It looks like....Keane. Yes, its Keane. The one man we could rely on...we hoped.

Everything goes into slow mo, the whole bar is still but yet everyone stands as if the end of the world had come. The expressions of shock, fear, anxiety, excitement and confusion are all rolled into the cauldron of red and white swirling colours in the bar that day. It was silent. I could hear my own heart beating!

In an instant, it felt like I had been transported half way across the universe and then returned to the same spot. A brilliantly executed finish by Keane beyond the flailing keeper to make it 3-0 against the scum in the semi-final on my birthday. The bar exploded like a volcano that had been waiting to erupt for 9 long years. Finally...with the emotion that can not be felt in any other sport in the world, by no one else other than those fans who have beaten their fiercest rivals. We knew we were gonna win that night and for another fantastic 42 minutes....so did my gooner friends.

That was a match that I will never forget, an experience that will live long in my mind. We crushed the scum, through to our first cup final this decade, it was my birthday, a nice polish waitress had just brushed her backside against my ballsack and smiled at me in the process and I didnt have to pay a penny for the £120 meal.

Memories:hump:

Its Keanes, by a long margin, best goal spurs have scored since the Dean Marney double!!

Talking about good goals Defoe did score a stunner against Arsenal when we lost 5-4.
And he scored a good double in the UEFA cup

Defoe scored a couple of really good goals in Europe. Seems like a while ago now, though...

The answer is Keane vs. Chelsea.

Thanks for your guesses though.

You see this baffles me - berbs goal v PSV is simply superior - but hey it's all about opinions

I'd love to hear some actual football coaches etc on this - but I guess I never will

of course Keano's goal was tremendous and helped stop the Chelsea title rush - but so did Heskey's

Hi DC_Boy, if Jenas didn't miss that penalty, Berbs' goal would probably win it but now it looks differently. It appears like a meaningless goal.

Exactly my feeling Petyr :) - i think people are voting for the context not the goal itself - in which case I'd vote for Berbs pen v CFC-

Yep what a move - the ballsack brush and smile - always a winner in my book.

Berba V. PSV for me as I'll never forget it. I was holding my 3 month old daughter at the time and my wife had been worrying about her hearing i.e. was it ok. Anyway, as the goal went I i think i shouted "THATS how to finish" and she jumped out of her skin! So, as well as being a footballing genius I'm going to suggest that Berba can cure deafness as well. So, thats my vote for what its worth.
