I'll get back to you after we've played our final league game of the season against pool.

Yeah no point doing it when there are still games to go. In one of the remaining matches Didier Zokora is going run past all 11 opposition players 7 times before finally lashing it into the top corner from 75 yards. You heard it here first.

ATM - Berbs against PSV - truly astonishing technique

but actually it's the Berbs pen at Wembley that stands out for me- of course it won't win - but what a pen that was

Kaboul's equaliser weren't half bad, against Villa in the 4-4 but them sort kind of get forgotten, he thought he was saving BMJ's skin that night.

for me its keano against chelsea, no contest.
last year i felt there were any number of worthy winners, nothing stood out among all others but this year its gotta be that one, it was just one of those were time slowed down as you wathced it, knowing full well its was going in! or at least thats my recollection of it

Not recent enough or not spectacular enough?

That was awesome, i really thought our squad then was gonna be our best in years, didn't quite work out like that tho, in fact, - Berbs, we went backwards.

Slightly random one but Berbatov's hatrick goal against Reading, the flick from the high ball was absolutley unbelievable technique. It wont win, but if you're looking for a goal that emphasised ability then that is definitely it

Gavspur, I think most people would agree that the 2005-2006 side really exceeded expectations and perhaps over achieved. We did really well, but several positions look stronger now than then. Berbs is better and more ffective than Kanoute. Keane is more effective alongside Berbs. Hutton is better than Salty (who did a good job for us in 2005-2006), Woody is better than Dawson and is obviously first choice to partner a fit Keane. I prefer Lee to Edman at LB, and Bale could certainly be better in the future. Robbo now seems like an inferior player to Robbo then.
The midfield is really where we are weaker. JJ is better now than back then, but Davids was very important for us. Of course, as age caught up with him his performances became less commanding, but that's to be expected. Carrick started to look very good for us and its quite obvious that most departments suffered from his departure. Sadly Zoko wasn't a carbon copy or a step up, and Hudd hasn't made the position his own (yet).

You mean King?

Edman's goal was in the 04/05 season mate. He left that summer when we signed Lee, was never in our lasagna-gate side.

But other than that I totally agree with you.

A bit picky for a monday morning, arent we?

Seriously, King/Keane. Can you explain the difference without any afrohension?

I was going on the Peace Cup side from that pre-season.
I guess Kanoute left after that, too?

Any more mistakes you'd care to point out?

Thanks for ruining my morning, "Marty".

I think the TT goal v West Ham was truly spectacular -

I also don't think we've gone backwards since 2006 - this season was better than that and so was last season

obviously we did better in the lge but losing to Grimsby was disgraceful and Leicester wasn't much better, while we weren't even in Europe - and then the West Ham fiasco at the end - though not our fault - left a bitter bitter bitter taste in the mouth (pun kinda intended) - in fact if St Steven Gerrard hadn't ruined the hammers day out the next weekend I think I'd actually ended up being a little sad over that season (instead it was the 'appy 'ammers crying - which was nice :)

the last three seasons have all been good but this one is very good - trophies change (almost) everything for me
