Is it just me, or is anyone slightly concerned that in addition to Alnwick remaining out on loan, we've now sent Button back to Crewe for 4 months and Jansson out to Exeter? (I think it was Exeter?).

We must be confident about Gomes being back soon.

Either that or if anything happens to Cudicini we are screwed!

Or Pav. ;-)
I didn't think that needed saying to be honest. Pav can of course play anywhere, in any position, to a world class standard, while bench-pressing the Eiffel Tower, having sex with all our mothers AND repairing the International Space Station.

Everybody already knows that!

POTL in his last Update said that its looking good that we will see Gomes against ManU.

Even if its just on the bench, but like you said we must be confident about Gomes being back soon

i think you can sign a keeper all year round, in fact i'm sure we did one year as emergency cover?

Can anyone confirm?

We can always recall one of the loanees. Makes sense for them to be getting competitive games in case they're needed.

That's correct, although if we did so in the past I can't remember who it was. I think we're overstressing a little.

How many times will it have to be said before people understand it's looking like Gomes will be fit for United or Chelsea. I had worked it out even before POTL had said anything.

I can't remember a season when we've ever been so worried about back up's incase of injury and I know it's nice to have quality back up, I am sure Redknapp would have recall clauses in the loan deals if we were unlucky enough to have both opur first team keepers out.

It certainly doesn't concern me. It excites me. There's no way we would have sent Button back out on loan if we weren't confident of Gomes being fit.

Exactly but he could break down and just seems kinda risky to have loaned all the boys out rather than perhaps waiting a teeny tiny bit longer for him to get fit again first.

If push comes to the shove, Gomes will play injured.

Not worried though, if things get that bad, I'll call Harry and tell him, he can have me for the week, free of charge. ;-)

They will be able to recall any of them at short notice if they need them and must be sure gomez will be back or else they wouldnt have done so

Gomes back in training acording to this

Tottenham keeper Heurelho Gomes back in training

Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes is set for a return to action in Spurs' next game at home to Manchester United, according to reports this morning.

The Brazilian custodian picked up a thigh injury in the 5-1 win at Hull City and some reports had suggested Gomes would be out for up to three months.

Gomes has already returned to training and is likely to displace Carlo Cudicini in the Spurs goal for the visit of Manchester United.

The return to fitness of the former PSV keeper explains why Spurs did not make a move for Portsmouth keeper David James and also allowed a host of young goalkeepers to leave the club on loan.

Ben Alnwick, David Button, Oscar Jansson and Lee Butcher have been sent out on loan. Alnwick can be recalled in case of injury to Gomes or Cudicini.

Maybe it was Gomes that turned to to training when Harry said only 1 turned up.
