Anyone know how long Gomes will be out for?

I'm happy we've got CC as cover but obviously would rather have big nose back between the sticks.

Gomes is the biggest pussy going. But Harry was wrong to leave him on till half time and i expect there were some words during the break because gomes didnt look happy with Harry.

As much as i love Gomes he really does need to man his shit up sometimes!

We all love Gomes, great keeper but you're right, he does come over sometimes as a right soft bugger.

You could tell that Harry has seen it before from him, as we all have, and he was trying to encourage to run it off (as much as a keeper can) but that only seemed to make Gomes more annoyed and in hindsight I think HR could've subbed him before half time.

There was a shot of Gomes standing in the tunnel entrance around the 88th min or something and he looked miserable, very much like he'd had a bit of a bollocking. Now sure, he can't help it if he's injured but as said above, I think he needs to harden up at times, much the same way Gareth Bale has apparently done over the past 2 seasons.

I wonder if either of you ever walked much less try to be mobile while playing football with a groin injury? Gomes was obviously injured and should have been subsituted straight away. What if they had scored a couple a goals because of his lack of mobility? We prob would not be celebrating today and the usual digs at him would reaccur. Damned if you do damned if you dont. Sometime ago Gomes lost a couple of teeth for our cause and didnt wanrt to be substituted. How then you can turn around a call him a pussy? Okay he might have niggly injuries so does alot of our players including Modric, I dont hear you saying anything or having ago at him? Because Harry kept him on, does not make it right!

If you read my post i said Harry was wrong to leave him on till half time. He was clearly injured but in the past he clearly hasnt been injured but still moans.

When he played for PSV he got a nasty injury in one game, but played on and made some game winning saves. I wonder why here he feels the need to roll about till he gets some attention.

As i said yes this time he was clearly injured but there are also times when he clearly appears to feign injury.

Oh dear, somebody is looking for an argument me thinks.

Which part of "I think he should've been subbed before half time" did you miss in my post? Might be an idea for you to dismount your high horse there fella....yikes.

Harry Redknapp recently stated about Gareth Bale that when he arrived at the club, it seemed that every time Bale got a knock he would drag himself over to the sideline feeling sorry for himself and everyone would rush around and treat him like he was made of glass. That was stopped and Bale was told to harden up and run it off more when he could, look at him now. Toughness is arguably just as much a mental attribute as it is a physical one.

Gomes clearly has a similar kind of mental issue with being hit (i.e. Stoke game last wknd). I'm not disputing his passion or what he does for the team, I'm merely stating that it seems that he has a tendancy to sometimes get slight knocks and maybe allow them to affect him a lot more than maybe he needs to. After all, why else would Harry try to calm him down and keep throwing up his hands to say give it a minute.......struck me as obvious but maybe I'm seeing something you're not, either way, wind ya neck in yeah, there's a good lad.

Is this the same Gomes who played in his 1st season with Spurs with cracked ribs?

Exactly my point as well, seems we understood each other dude but others didn't quite so much.

We could well miss him if he is out for a while. Cudicini is good back up, but Gomes was one of the top 3 keepers in the league. I mean, watch my video and see!

why so much assumption that he wasn't generally hurt? i think he was just being sensible, take me off because I'm not going to be near my best

I have seen him pull the most strangest of faces as if he's broke both his legs and spend a long time on the deck, only to continue playing and it was only last season(i think) he appeared to be in major distress only to pop up the next game.

Yes i doubt he would feign injury and he's the best keeper we have had for a very long time but he does need to "harden the fuck up" a little.

There was one instance last night when the ball got played back to him and he was clearly uncomfortable with getting in position to clear his lines. He was being closed down rapidly before finally clearing to a defender under severe pressure.

Later, Daws was taking the goal kicks.

People are quoting all sorts of occasions when he was injured but played without seeing the irony of that, he seems to get injuries more than other keepers who might get an injury that keeps them out but they don't seem to get a string of them like he does.

He's had groin strains regularly while playing for Spurs though hasn't he. It may be a mental thing, which Harry quite possibly is coming round to thinking before calling on the ship's surgeon.

He blatantly had a groin strain. Harry didn't seem to pleased with him at the press conference.

Dawson nearly gave me a heart attack when he gave gomes a passback. Bless him :)
