We all dream of a team of Harry Kane's!

That needs to catch on.

Can only go from about 1990, with Gazza just scraping in memory wise with Spurs. We really have had a shambles of defensive players lol. Davies has the potential to be our best LB in the last 25 years without even needing to be that great.

Lloris
King Campbell Mabbutt
Ginola Modric Carrick Gazza Bale
Berbatov Sheringham

Subs: Carr, VDV, Keane, Davids, Woodgate, Klinsmann, Parker

Some great teams. But theres no way you'd want Greaves, Gazza and Mackay in the same squad. Greavsie and Dave were bad enough together, throw Gazza in with those 2 and he'd have no chance staying sober. Be great entertainment though.

I know our history very well, but don't feel confident in naming any of the old legends.
I've seen highlights and some cup finals, but not enough to compare with the modern players.
Not sure we're supposed to neither, football has changed a lot throughout the years.

Here's mine from 1990 and up untill today:

Lloris
Carr - Woodgate - King - Assou-Ekotto
Bale - Gascoigne - Modric - Ginola
Sheringham
Klinsmann

subs.
Thorstvedt, Vertonghen, Ziege, Carrick, Anderton, van der Vaart, Lineker

Manager: Martin Jol

Berbatov could just have much been in there as Rafa, and I feel bad for not having a place for Keano.
The Dark one has been excluded for obvious reasons

(edit) I'll do a legends team as well, players (mostly) before my time:

Jennings
Gough - England - Mabbutt
Blanchflower - Mackay
Hoddle - White
Jones - Greaves - Waddle

subs.
Brown, Mullery, Burgess, Perryman, Ardiles, Peters, Chivers

Manager: Bill Nicholson

You could argue Bale vs Gascoigne or Dyson if you like. Feel free to post your own teams. Personally I feel that Bale only hit "World class" for about six months, then joined Real Madrid. And for me that counts against him. So does the quality of other great Spurs players.

More interesting is that Cliff Jones was clearly better than Bale, he was the best winger in the world for years, but nobody seems to mind Arnoldtoo leaving him out.

Fair comment. I do remember the end of Jones's Spurs career, but I was too young to appreciate how good he was, and looking at the team I picked I just couldn't leave Bale out. I suppose I'm looking beyond Bale's Spurs career - exciting though it was - to what I think he has and will become. Hey, sometimes the guy picking the team has to go with gut feel! I should have found room for Jones on the bench though.

Here goes:

Jennings

Perryman England King Bale

Mackay Ardiles

Hoddle Gascoigne Jones

Greaves

Would love to put Blanchflower and White in but sadly saw little of them play.
Honourable mentions for Norman, Knowles, Modric, Mullery, Anderton, Gough, Klinsmann, Sherringham and Lineker. Though if playing two strikers I would put Bobby Smith alongside Greaves as the ultimate 'you don't want to mess with me' number nine

I can only comment on who played for spurs in my lifetime. I'll probably get WTF?!!! for Corluka and Assou-Ekotto but for a couple of seasons there, they were the best two full backs I have seen in terms of their linkup with other players.

Lloris

Corluka King Campbell Assou-Ekotto

Ginola Gascoigne Modric Bale

Berbatov Klinsmann

Bale for me is a difficult one, he had one standout season with us but then so did Klinsmann.

Where the fudge is Bentaleb in these line-ups. Bale me here and Bale me there. Greaves over Klinsmann. Shit like that simply doesn't matter when you don't list the best Algerian player this club has EVER seen.

I would have loved to see Sheringham and Berbatov play together, would have been totally unconventional and probably the slowest attack in the league but the interplay between the 2 would have been outstanding in my opinion. Also seeign Bale play with Berby or Bale would have been outstanding also.

Agreed, with 2x 2013 Bale, we would have pushed for the title.

Half (!) a standout season, and 1 half above average.

It's Kane again, hallelujah it is Kane again – ah-ah-ah
Some of Bale's goals reminded me of Matt Le Tiss but no one would put Le Tiss in Bale's league because he stayed at Southampton. A shame really.
