guti for the price would be an idealsigning.

We get him on a 2 year 50,000 a week contract. He will recieve 5m from us and Madrid will recieve 5m form us

10m for 2 years service is slightly pricy but he has tons of experience

Has the vision and passing quality of carrick but with more bite in his tackles.

Am I the only person who doesn't particularly rate him?

If we had to sign an ageing left footed player with large wages from La Liga, my preference would still have been Petrov.

Then again, Spanish football bores the pants off me, so I don't really watch much of it, but my gut feeling is not one of immense excitement at the prospect of signing him.

There's no doubt Guti is technically very skilful, and has a great eye for a through pass. A couple of times a season, he looks like a world-beater.
But but but...
He's thirty-years-old and only played nine times for Spain, so their national coaches can't think he's that good.
Crucially, opponents spend all their time trying to intimidate him physically, winding him up, shoving him, kicking him, and he usually reacts - either by getting booked, or disappearing from the game. Guti would be a complete disaster on a cold, wet, Wednesday away to any team north of Watford.
So, if we want to pay £10 million (incl wages) for 2 seasons of a player who will be awesome five times a season at WHL, then let's splash the cash. Personally, I'd pass.
I also don't think he'd come for £50k a week wages - I suspect he'd want more, which would cause big knock-on problems with our other top players...

No you are not mate. Imagine a more talented Jenas, who turns it on even less!! The only thing consistent about his play is its inconsistency. When he is hot he can dictate games and when them on his own, but that only happens about four times a season. Never seen him play two good games in a month, and we get bypassed in the quicker English game.

Play the ghetto kid, or Taarabt. We dont need this guy. We need a left winger (and Jol needs to play him)

we can also do worse - like keeping with the same players we have now.

i think if Guti is interested in playing for us and his wages are reasonable then he could be a great signing.

he can provide a spark in midfield and cover the left side as well if required.

He didnt exactly turn out for Madrid really did he...why is he going to bother coming to dreary england to play for a side not even in the CL. I think we can do better than him, and he can get someone more suited to him. One of the bigger european clubs will go in for him as a squad player and he'll be happy with that. not the attitude we want.

Guti would study a supply of the Tottenham
LONDON - the Tottenham could present/display a substantial supply by Guti, to that the draftee of the Dutch Wesley Sneijder would clear protagonism to the canterano in medular merengue. According to it informed the British metropolitan newspaper “Daily Mirror yesterday”, the president of the Spurs, Daniel Levy, would be arranged to pay around the nine million euros to take control of the “14” target. Sources next to Guti commented Md who the player “would study” a supply of the Tottenham in case that he arrived, since the one of Torrejón always has attracted him the possibility of playing in the Premier League

No direct quotes from Guti, but it's something.

I liked the translation - it's like being on magic mushrooms!

Meaning a tad obscure though!
