So, I was watching the BBC’s ‘Premier League's Most Amazing Moments’ and thought it would make an interesting discussion. Spurs featured in fully 7 out of the 50. “Damn straight”, you might say, “the mighty lilywhites are this league’s most exciting and attractive sides and should feature in more than 7 out of the 50”.

The thing that hit me is that none of the 7 Spurs moments were glorious wins or amazing signings or incredible goals, like many of the others selected.

The Spurs related moments were:
No. 41 (21:14)
2012: 2-0 up in the massively important Arsenal game, to go 13 points clear of them and potentially usurp them as perennial Champions League contenders – which turned into a 5-2 loss, capitulation in the league, ending in the firing of Arry.
“If anyone could snatch disaster from the jaws of triumph, it’s Spurs”

No. 38 (29:00)
2012: Muamba cardiac arrest on the pitch at White Hart Lane. :(

No. 33 (40:00)
1997: game kicks-off with 9 Tottenham players on the pitch as Ruel Fox & SirLes were taking a dump.

No. 23 (1:02.00)
2010: Gomes taking a phantom free kick that resulted in Nani’s absurd goal at Old Trafford.
“the most bizarre goal I’ve ever seen in the Premier League”

No. 18 (1:13.38)
2001: From beat Man U at home 3-0, losing 3-5.
“not even United can win from 3-nil down, but then again, this is Spurs”

No. 15 (1:20.14)
2005: Pedro Mendes 'goal' at Old Trafford.
“I’ve never seen a ball that far over the goal line and not given”

No. 12 (1:25.50)
2006: 'Lasagna Gate' at West Ham to truly screw-up the season.
“Tottenham’s season went down the pan and pretty much crowned them as the unluckiest Premier League team of the lot”

Assuming the producer isn’t a massive gooner and the choices were fair, what is it about us that attracts this bad luck or crazy incidents?

need to add us finishing 4th but chelsea somehow fluking their way to the final, then fluking their way to win the CL final.

and foster being injuried for the last game of the season and the sub goalkeeper having literally the worst performace from a a goalkeeper in the prem league, gifting arsenal 3rd place

Sure it's not bad luck, it's tactical naivety...

We are cursed, look at last season ffs. 4th, the Holy Grail...did we get CL? Did we fuck.

Was the Muamba thing on a show about the premier league's most amazing moments? That was in the FA cup wasn't it?

Of course we are...some will try to deny it, me, I think we should suck it up. Just makes the triumphs all the more rewarding (y)

Its not luck. Being 2 nil up against arsenal and getting thrashed is just tactical niavity and arsenal wanting it more. Same against Utd. Pedro Mendes is just poor officiating and so was the Gomes incident. Us finishing 4th and not getting champions league was always a possibility and we could have changed that by not bringing on Scott Parker instead of Defoe when we only needed one goal against the poorest villa side in years.

You make your own luck.

Luck doesn't exist, like good or evil or any other mysterious forces that supposedly affect our lives.

It was the reaction to him coming on the pitch before a premier league game following the incident and focused on the support he received from all players and fans.
