Cheers for the info, but obviously this is speculation as far as most people will be concerned, so we can't assume this is exactly how it went down

It is exactly how it has gone down mate.

Call it speculation, but without taking this into account you're just wasting you're breath with all due respect!

Levy's done/doing a fantastic job and people should remember that. Money has been spent on squad development over his watch it can't be denied but this close season will tell us what we need to know about the direction in which we plan on going, because you can bet your bottom dollar Arsenal will now have to spend City of course will be spending now CL is secured, Liverpool haven't even began to spend they just recycled Torres money, Chelsea will be making changes so the question really is wtf are we going to do...we must spend even if its to keep our existing players IE Modric Bale Lennon VdV etc.

No need to be so defensive. I don't know whether it's true or not. I'm not saying it isn't. I live my life by the Christopher Hitchens mantra: what is asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. And I 'aint seen no evidence.

All due respect etc.

Hopefully 'Arry stays on for a while yet as he knows that he's only a couple of decent strikers away from a first class team. Whether Dan the Man will give him the money or whether we are able to pay their wages is another thing entirely but after seeing this season fritter away hopefully Levy now understands that he has to buy the players 'Arry wants and not to continue to force players on him, a la Martin Jol, as he and that nitwit Comolli did.
Which players has he forced on Harry?

Can I just say, Critisism is probably constructive at this point but people need to be aware of facts.

During the Summer, we were dicked about by Luis Fabiano. This boy was going to sign. Harry met and lunched with the guy and his people. This deal was as good as done. Fabiano Fucked THFC over, for a new contract.

During January, Harry was clear from day one. GET ME ANDY CARROLL! Did it happen? and yet there were bids flying around on deadline day (pr stunt if you ask me) for anything from the spanish league that has scored a goal!

Yes Harry wanted Neville, Yes Harry wanted Parker! Yes Harry wanted Carroll!

No Levy didnt want Neville, No Levy didnt want Parker enough and BIG FAT NO did Levy want Carroll!

continue...

If that is the case then what manager is going to join Spurs if he doesn't have a proper say in transfers ?

Can you imagine Dalgliesh putting up with that sh1t ?

I truly fear the next dizzying offer and merry-go-round every 15 months but can't see us having any stability .

I've no doubt you're right Mr Ryantegan but then at the end of the day levy controls the cash and if he says no to Carroll then surely HR has to have another plan and incidentally I don't think the Spanish was such a PR stunt because Rossi could have said yes on the last day of the window.
I hear what you say about Fabiano but I've said he was a bad target and the way he seems to have returned to Brazil with a wimper doesn't lead me to feel he'd have been a success here. Would you agree with the OP though?

I can understand your stance. I was just giving you the benifit of my confidence, when I made the statement. Its something I know as fact.

You can alledge and assume throughout the thread, but without willingness to accept these facts, I wont be partaking any more involvement in the discussion. It would be pointless for me!

Harry has spent over 40 million on the strikers that he wanted!

?

Defoe and Keane were brought to save us from relegation.

Crouch was an extra option available at a good price

VDV wasn't Harry's target

I think you can tell Harry feelings when he talks about the transfer windows. It was a time he loved elsewhere, its probably something he loathes at spurs

Appreciate that you want to inform and enlighten.

I just can't accept something stated as fact with no evidence, it's not in my nature.

Apart from the stadium issue, Levy has done a decent job. And, in the main, learnt from his mistakes.

Hopefully the players, manager and coaching staff will also learn from theirs this season.

yes I would agree. But my fear is that ths would turn into another 15-20 page thread that is based around something that hasnt happended.

Like I have said Harry has got things wrong transfer wise. Lets judge him on what we know collectively as fact. Keane short term success long term failure. rouch Success for me. Defoe over the 2 years Success. Palacios, Success. Kranjcar, mistreated by harry so Failure. GDS (although not signed by harry) probably has been left disallusioned. Pienaar looks like a success in the long run for me. Kaboul ???

Players he didnt sign? we know he rejected Hunterlaar(last window) and Suarez this. He probably got them wrong!

My only worry with this was the matter of release clauses (vat add on and all that) and Rossi's insistance that he wasnt interested at the time.
Its easy to bid what you havnt got if the deal has no chance.
Weve all bid on ebay knowing full well it wont be enough. It is just fantasy bidding!

he was, but pretty early on it was established that he was out of our price range. we moved on until Levy was contacted final day. I love Levy but he gets the glory for Madrid ringing him at te eleventh hour?
