Drenthe would be handy to have around, plus he's refusing to play for Hercules after not being paid for about 4 months. He's got potential down the left-hand side.

I have never understood this, I often hear (mostly via American media) people referring to themselves as half jewish.

I assume they mean one of their parents are Jewish so they have half Jewish heritage rather than they are lapsed jews (like saying the practise the religion half arsed)

How can someone be half of a religion? I would of thought either you are Jewish or your not Jewish I never understood someone being half.

half ones heritage could be from people of a Jewish faith but ethically they would be Yiddish or whichever type of Jewish people their family were.

Not meaning to be pedantic, it's just something that always puzzled me in as far as no other religion could you be half you would either be a part of the religion or not, is there something different regarding the Jewish faith which enables one to be half? (the fact they derive from a set number of chosen people or whatever, excuse my ignorance)

Jew's are a creed of people, Judaism is the religion they follow. So its possible to be half Jewish without being religious just as its possible to be half Indian without being a Hindu or a Sikh.

You do realise there's an ITK discussion thread, right?

Er, where exactly?

Last window it was in the SC ITK section of the forum but I dont see it there now.

Unless I'm on the banned list too?

It is quite mean to ban Fazza from the ITK section considering he more than anyone else seems to believe implicitly in every little bit of info that comes out.

I'm not having a go, its actually quite endearing.

I did deserve the ban though, Although I was going through a very bad time in my life and was lashing out at everyone, still it's no excuse, I broke a fundamental rule and was punished for it, whether it should be an infinite ban is up to the Mods.

Yes I did used to have that knack of getting everyone excited

It is something that causes a lot of confusion.
The People of Israel, in the Biblical sense, were a fairly clearly defined ethnic community, with their own religion, like most peoples - just that it was base don one deity rather than a pantheon. And the people of Israel idnetified with that deity in a way that no other people identified with their pantheon. So, for instance, if another people was defeated in war they merely accepted that the other people's War God was more powerful and takcked it into their system of beliefs.
The Hebrews (or 'Jews' in later parlance), retained a clear ethnic distinction even after their final defeat and expulsion from Israel by the Romans. Nowadays, although there are many Jews who have 'Gentile' blood, their are many who have either retained a genealogical bloodline and are proud of their 'Hebrew-ness', and they consider people who are Jews by religion as something else (I belief they have a term for it - anyone help me out). There are other Jews who don't really know what their background is but identify themselves as Hebrews (whether 100% accurate,or not). Then their are others, again, who consider themselves to be Jewish by religious affiliation, and many of these either do not know or don't particularly care, whether they have pure Jewish blood or not.
The Nazi's for instance, clearly believed their was a 'Jewish' race - by and large it was a racial issue with them and not a religious one, based ultimately on racial purity.
On these grounds I would find it understandable if someone considered himself/herself to be 'half Jewish', just like half Irish, Scots, Welsh, Spanish or Chinese.

Is it possible to be half circumsized then?

 But it is something that is reversanble - though exceedingly painful, apparently. During the Hellenistic (Greek) dominance in Asia-minor, ager the conquests of Alexander the Great, the ultimate expression of Hellenism (identification with Greek culture) was membership of the Gymnasium, which was something far more than just an ancient gym. Excercise and bathing were undertaken naked...so, obviously, it was pretty difficult to hide Jewishness (or Semitic-ness, since many Semitec peoples practiced circumcision). Wealthy Jews would often undergo this painful operation in order to gain acceptance from the local Hellenistic community by not standing out :)shifty:) at the Gymnasium.

I bet SS is loving that! It's one of the benefits of being banned from the TRF that I don't have to waste my time getting annoyed with his vendetta against Pablo.

Perhaps me and you should start a club Fazza, we could call it the 'We're banned but we don't care club!'.

Although it would be somewhat ironic as I was banned for calling you a big fat liar a couple of years back  Stupid rule that one... Anyway, no hard feelings I hope?!

If you haven't worked it out yet, there is still a way you can get on the ITK read only section if you want to tease yourself with all the latest gossip... but perhaps I shouldn't be saying that...?!

Seriously Pablo's a joke the amount of stuff he's got wrong, I'm more ITK than him and I'm not ITK!

I think Pablo works for the Mirror in Ireland. Obviously the Mirror is at best a shit paper but I'm sure they have a few football contacts here and there.

Pablo is a journo and gets tidbits a little early. You know where you stand with his info in the sense that you know for a fact he's just passing on stuff that will be in the papers the next day.

This will be the first time he's been spot-on since scooping Jamie Redknapp's arrival at the Lane, and it's still hardly an exclusive.

I don't have a vendetta against him. I merely point out what should be crashingly obvious (but for some reason isn't to some people); that he's a journo who gets an early sight of next morning's transfer stories, most of which are completely wrong. Do you have a problem with factual statements?
