Lol. If kane wants to stick one in the crowd every now and then, there is no-one who could tell him otherwise. He must be kept happy. That's the politics of it.

In fact it is very surprising he did not play against sheffield Utd - I imagine that did not go down very well.

Harry Kane has called on his Tottenham teammates to be more clinical after they were beaten 1-0 by Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday. Spurs missed the chance to open up a seven-point gap on fifth-place Newcastle after they had lost at Manchester City earlier in the day.

Despite controlling possession and creating more chances at Molineux, Spurs were undone by a late goal by long-term transfer target Adama Traore, condemning them to a second 1-0 defeat on the road this week.

Agreed. You’ll probably find the best free kick takers are the ones that stay behind for hours after training, working on their technique.
It’s hard to imagine H doing this as his free kicks are so embarrassingly shocking... Which is a shame as he’s successfully developed other areas of his game and definitely has it in him to be a million times better at scoring set piece goals from outside the box.
I'd honestly be amazed if Kane wasn't practicing free kicks tons in training given how much of a perfectionist he is about other areas of his game.

I imagine he must bang them in pretty handily behind the scenes, but for whatever reason - probably mental - he just can't do it in a game situation. He should've accepted this was the case a few years back and let Son take over, but he's clearly convinced he can turn it around. It's remarkable that none of the managers have stepped in to stop him, really.

He must genuinely have the worst free kick record of any player in PL history now given the sheer number he's been allowed to spaff into the wall and the crowd.

We keep hearing about the 'mentality' issues within the squad. This is part of it. A senior player prioritizing his own quest for records over what is best for the team and nobody having the guts to deal with it. He clearly isn't the man for this particular job and hasn't been for years but he's apparently too big to be told. If he'd gone to Man City he would never take a free kick - ever.

You're right and I said it so many times why the hell doesn't anybody else at the club not see that as good as he is at most things free kicks are not for him? If the fans can see it surely the management can? I know we don't have an Eriksen to take them but Son must be a better option and now it seems Porro could. Perhaps a couple of banners in the crowd with "We love you Harry but please don't take anymore freekicks" would do the trick. We've had a few just outside the area this season and last with no end result and they are just wasted opportunities. Lets hope we bring in Ward-Prowse or Maddison or even both for next season.
Porro, Son & Perisic are the obvious candidates. Given how unsuccessful Kane's freekicks have been over such a long period of time, I would also expect Kulusevski, Richarlison, Bentancur etc. to be ahead of him in the pecking order for direct free-kicks.

Be interesting to see if this blasting is effective on Wednesday, or whether he just hit the wall with it.

Agree with everything up until Ward Prowse. He's a bang average footballer. Can't carry someone just for his free kicks (and I'm still not convinced Kane would let him have all of them).

A few years ago we'd have said "there's no way he'd be anywhere near free kicks if we had a Mourinho or a Conte as manager", and yet for some reason even they've bowed to him. I just don't get it. Serial winners are hurting our chances of success.

It'll never happen but I'd love one of the journalists to just ask the free kick question at a pre-match press conference some time.
