It is conceivable that Kane could go this summer and conceivable that he would go to Man City. It is nonsensical to think that Man City wont pay the money because history suggests they wouldnt. Their talisman is leaving and they need to make a statement signing to replace Aguero - that guy? a Haaland or a Kane - there arent many world class or even top class strikers about - even if Man City get Haaland then Manure will then need to go for Kane - they need a striker and think theyll be ont he lookout for one.

I always thought Kane if he were to leave would go to Man City, certainly not Man Utd and cant really see Kane leaving the PL with the record in sight and his family settled in London.

Saying Levy wont sell to the PL is naive thinking - not many, if any, abroad will be able to afford Kane and well three years remaining, his value will only go down after next season and Kane may not well sign that contract...

If Kane does indeed wish to leave this summer then if you're ambitious you get top money for Kane and buy Haaland as his *"replacement", he has a release clause that's a lot lower than the fee Kane would command no? ICBW.

*Although "replacement" is the wrong word as Kane isn't replaceable with just one player he's our best CB, midfielder and forward as well as being a HG club trained legend. Plus his understanding with Sonny (that's a lot of goals, assists and forward play to recoup) I honestly think the transfer values touted about for him are too low especially when quoting other PL clubs. Ever more so now they're ditching FFP rules.

For the record I don't know enough about Haaland to pass judgment.

Zero chance of haaland coming to us obviously. Every club in the world will be in for him. And even though there's a release fee, I'd imagine Raiola will be asking for the transfer fee again for himself.

Haaland's release clause will be active in June 2022 and not this year, but I agree that there is no chance that we will sign him anyway.

Thanks for the info, I wasn't aware Raiola was his agent (isn't he the agent that you're best staying well clear of like Kia Joordoodah?)

Fancy a bet? If Kane leaves for City I will donate £100 to SC when the transfer window closes. Kane stays, you donate £100. If he leaves for anywhere else, we both donate £50. What do you think?

Depends on the club but in general Raiola isn't the best agent to deal with (according to certain team's). Mostly because of the agent fees he commands, and clubs don't like the fact that he maximizes his clients value. But all his players speak of him highly so it depends on who you ask.

Ok deal - but i didnt really say he would leave, I was quite pragmatic and said it is conceivable he could leave and i think that is right. I dont think he will leave though but more hope than anything.

Ill take the bet anyways - cos its fun.

Kane best leave that fucker.

Recent? :bored:

There were 3 between 97 and 2008. None since.

The misery fetish in this place (not aimed just at you) is off the charts.

OK you're right - "recent" was my reference to the last 10-15 years as opposed to decades and decades however i still shiver at those memores of seeing Teddy, Carrick and Berba all go up there - some of which under Levy.

City have been linked more with Haaland and Lukaku than Kane.

There's also a good chance they'll just bring in Messi this summer and not sign a striker.

I don't think spending 150m+ on a 28 year old is something they tend to do, if they're pushing the boat out it'll be Haaland who has about 14 years of value in him

If you have a look on the reaction on twitter to Aguero leaving all their fans are asking for Haaland and Messi in the “who do they get to replace him” articles. There are a few saying Kane to replace him but click on their profiles and funnily enough they are Liverpool or gooner fans. I suspect it will be one of those two or nobody.

Other fans are desperate for Kane to leave. I played football last night and other people were saying he’ll go. But when I push them on who is going to pay what we want for him they’re stumped. There’s an awful lot of hoping he’ll leave from other fans but when they actually put their brains behind it they can see it is very hard for him to (Unless he downs tools obviously) and I don’t think he wants to anyway.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Man City went for Messi this window but teed up Harland for the following summer when his release clause kicks in. All you’d say to Harland is, wait a season more so we can buy you for less and we will give you a huge signing on fee rather than paying £100m to his club now. No player is going to turn down £30m even if it is filthy money.
