Certainly not the latter.
I can see United going mad this transfer window in a desperate bid to catch city, United won't get Haaland so be desperate to get Kane. Hopefully Kane see the sense and realises he won't win anything at United and stays at spurs.

It makes absolutely no sense for Kane to join United, it's City or us. United are pretty much in no better position to win the major trophies than us, which would be Kanes prime motivation to leave. Obviously they are higher in the league but look miles off City and Ole seems to bottle semi finals worse than us. Joining City would basically guarantee at least one league title over the next few years as well as going far into the CL with a few domestic trophies

I say just make him player manager. Give him Jose's wages plus his own and offer him a life time contract. This is definitely a rational suggestion and not one clouded by my love for the man.

It is conceivable that Kane could go this summer and conceivable that he would go to Man City. It is nonsensical to think that Man City wont pay the money because history suggests they wouldnt. Their talisman is leaving and they need to make a statement signing to replace Aguero - that guy? a Haaland or a Kane - there arent many world class or even top class strikers about - even if Man City get Haaland then Manure will then need to go for Kane - they need a striker and think theyll be ont he lookout for one.

I always thought Kane if he were to leave would go to Man City, certainly not Man Utd and cant really see Kane leaving the PL with the record in sight and his family settled in London.

Saying Levy wont sell to the PL is naive thinking - not many, if any, abroad will be able to afford Kane and well three years remaining, his value will only go down after next season and Kane may not well sign that contract...

It's conceivable in the same way that the UK rejoining the EU in 10 years is conceivable. That is to say, it is possible to imagine such an outcome. But that doesn't make it at all likely.

There's virtually no chance that Levy lets Kane leave this summer when he still has three years remaining on his contract. There is even less of a chance that Levy would sell to a Premier League rival. So the only hope that City would have is if they offered an absurd amount....far more than even Harry is worth. And while they might be able to afford such an absurd amount, they are no longer a club that is willing to overpay massively - and haven't been such for five years or more. That's not to say that they wouldn't smash their transfer record and splash out £150m for the right player. But Levy wouldn't even pick up the phone for £150m. Not this summer.

He is going

They all do ...Carrick Bale Walker Modric Berbatov

They are interested in winning things

The little midget is interested in money
That's 5 players in 15 years, hardly a damning indictment that proves "they all go". Clearly, they don't. Plus all these players left at a time the club was nowhere near the stature it is now.

The little midget very, very rarely let's a good player go. In fact, the accusation that sticks more is that he holds onto players too long (Rose, Eriksen, Dele etc). But if Levy does let a good player go, it's likely to be in circumstances of our choosing. So don't expect Kane to go any time soon, if there's even anyone out there who can afford him (which is doubtful).

The idea of Kane leaving is nothing but an Arsenal fantasy.

And Levy will tell them exactly the same thing he told them when they wanted Bale. Hint: The second word will be "off".

Youre most likely right and I also dont think he will leave this summer but it could be £150m this summer or a £100m next summer - maybe no buyers next summer as they wont wait another season so they get their men... then we may have someone who wont sign a new contract and his value diminishing.

I certainly dont think Kane is the type to down tools or even kick up a fuss but doesnt mean he has to sign a contract.

When was the last time City paid north of £150m for any player. Oh yeah. Never. £100m even? Nope. Never done it.

If you look at their big signings over the years they are all in the £60m-70m range. No way they suddenly treble that for Kane.

They have spent over £140m on multiple players combined in at least three of the last four transfer windows.

Pep might think we only need one player and that player is Kane. Therefore they will have the funds.

I will also add that Pep will likely only be at City for maybe two or three more years. If there is one player who could take them to the next level it's Kane.

I wouldn’t take any amount of money for him.

Irreplaceable for me.

I can see the argument for that. But we need to rebuild, and fast. With COVID and all that it’s good money.

I'm really not sure Kane would want to play for another PL team. I think it's only going to be a foreign club but still can't see it this summer. If Bale didn't want another PL club I can't see how Kane would.

Wenger's comments re. Kane are spot on. If we get the next TW right there's a chance things can turn around fairly quickly. I'm far from convinced about Jose, but there's definitely a chance that with the right outgoings and incomings that we can start to get some surprising momentum. We have world class players in a lot of areas, but we're being held back by dressing room stink and too much mediocrity that Levy did his best to mask the past couple of years.

If Jose can acquire some more fighters in the PEH mould, i'm optimistic but there's a lot of work to be done.
