It feels like Levy has finally strangled the golden goose. No doubt he will now start splashing the cash to try and keep us fans onside but once again it will be a case of too little, too late. Levy has continually failed to back manager after manager and this lack of ambition has finally turned one of the best players to ever wear a spurs shirt. He should be ashamed. The only thing holding our great club back is the owners. Time for them to sell up to someone with a bit of ambition.

Are there parallels between this and the Messi/Barca situation?
Messi did the respectable thing, so maybe Kane would too? But Messi's older.

If he’s so desperate to pop his trophy cherry, we should loan him to Man City for a season.

Let him win a couple of trophies there then come back and play out the rest of his career with us in painful mediocrity, Alan Shearer style.
Just loan him for a game to stop Chelsea winning the Champions League again.

He’ll give the new manager a year. And we’ll look forward to Jim White looking at his Nokia 3210 this time next year ...

I think he made that call on Mourinho and it failed unfortunately.

I'm just not sure why he'd make that call again.

Obviously hope you're right though.

Past caring about that mate. An awful lot of people believe what suits at the time. If they want to spend all summer living under a cloud that's up to them. It's been the line he absolutely wouldn't be sold this Summer and It would take a world record fee to even get us listening imo.
The thing is, and you obviously have access to things we don’t, that much should be obvious to everyone and their dog anyway. The only reason it isn’t is because people are so disenchanted with the owners that they take glee in having such a big stick with which to beat them.

A real air of inevitability about this. I have been fortunate enough to have been a season ticket holder with my oldest son (now 17) since the Sherwood season and then the start of the Poch era, and I have always been proud of the fact Kane was one of our own and my son has watched Kane in the team he loves producing some wonderful memories over the years.

However i might be seen as controversial here, but if Spurs get £120m+ for Kane (in current market conditions a tough ask) then it might work out best for both parties, my reasons are as follows:

1. Kane is approaching 29 and has a few miles on the clock, he is not a Ronaldo type athlete that will necessarily drive into and beyond his mid 30’s in peak physical condition.
2. All modern statistical data shows most players decline from 27, not the previously held belief of decline staring at 29-30 years old.
3. I don’t subscribe to the theory Kane is in the form of his life right now, that was in the last two seasons at WHL, he gets nowhere near the same amount of shots off per game now. His mobility is severely restricted in comparison to those years and the 1st season at Wembley his ruthlessness was higher.
4. Kane cost us £0 and has been a wonderful servant to Tottenham, the money could start the rebuild for the next decade. Alongside getting rid of the likes of Dier, Aurier, Winks, Davies, and Doherty etc. that said I have no confidence Hitchin being able to rebuild the team with £200m available to him.

Overall though, it’s going to be a sad day watching Kane play for City against us at the Tottenham stadium. That is the only transfer that could happen or make sense from a financial and sporting perspective. I had a similar feeling as a 10 year old when Hoddle left Spurs for Monaco in 1987, you felt sad but kind of accepted he had earned the right to try something new.

Kane is 27

I don't necessarily believe that Sky have got anything solid.

I don't necessarily think he'll leave.

But I'd be very surprised if he wanted to stay right now.

Every news agency now running with the story tbf. Think there is a lot of truth to it. Still hoping Ali G has the true line.

Levy better have a fucking plan to get us out of this stinking shitty hole we are in at the moment.

As a valued ST holder we are pleased to offer you a 15% discount on all Spurs merchandise.....

.... and have you thought about the Skywalk? 2 for 1.

Quite. The squad is absolutely nowhere near the level of the top clubs of world football right now. Kane is in his late twenties, he won’t want to wait for a miracle any longer.

If you think it's too late for spending money to help us, then how will new owners fix anything?

He’s getting older with every post!

We all are for that matter.

Astonishing delusion if you don’t think there’s a leak from Kane’s team here.

astonishing indeed if you think Sky have the exclusive and were given it at 7pm today.

Kane may want to leave this summer, we all know this is a strong possibility as we’ve discussed it here all season long. But Sky are merely speculating on a quiet Premiership news day, not to mention they’ll hVe already pocketed thousands on Skybet since 7pm on Kane’s next club market.

it’s shameless and you’re buying it.

This is all very fair, and while subjective, you’re final conclusion is a very justifiable one to reach. Be that at it may, want and get are two very different things and thankfully I don’t see him going on strike or downing tools, especially not with the PL record getting closer all the time.

Times : Harry Kane has formally told Tottenham Hotspur that he wants to leave this summer and believes he has a gentlemen’s agreement with Daniel Levy. United, City, Chelsea and Barcelona are all interested

It’s an agent briefing. An obvious one.

"Sources" saying Levy and Kane had a face to face meeting.

Did they all listen in outside the door or something o_O

They had Jim White looking through the window into Levy's office via binoculars and using his expert lip-reading skills to be able to determine that Harry said "I want out you tight, bald ****"

Ah the old “gentleman’s agreement”. Been a while since we’ve heard that.
