Have to laugh at all the posters who've had a melt down.....Harry Kane showing no loyalty... Harry disrespecting the fans. Same posters Eric Dier is the biggest prick, why is he still here....Harry Winks is not our level... needs to leave asap..etc etc.

I'm confused at this haughty statement.

What category of person can justifiable be annoyed with Harry Kane? One that isn't irked by the mediocre players that have contributed towards this very predicament?

I don't think anyone has said Dier is 'a prick', and I think you've constructed some inaccurate views to make some sort of point - I'm just not sure what it is? People aren't especially annoyed that Kane wants to leave - I think people are annoyed that he is acting like someone they thought he wasn't. A Berbatov, essentially.

A lot of people have invested heavily in the image of him being a spurs guy, one of our own, but it appears he thinks that it's acceptable to effectively go on strike to join a team that not only plays in the same league, but has a lot of focus for being financially doped - and yet, ironically, letting him leave for a relatively large discount.

Moreover, it's a guy who hasn't exactly won man of the match awards when he's had a chance to actually win something, so this is a little like someone throwing litter on the floor and complaining about the mess.

Good on us for standing firm but the situation will be disruptive so rather if city put in an acceptable offer we took it and moved on
If he is avoiding training keep fining him two weeks for every day he doesn't train; make a public statement that it's not the type of behaviour one expects of the captain of England. Southgate should threaten to strip him of the captaincy - that'll make him think again

A drawn out and bitter saga is the last thing we need with a new manager at the helm and new players coming in.

If he’s going, we should get rid sooner rather than later, and start reinvesting while the window is still open. No point letting this fester.

If City really wanted Kane, they would stump up the cash. I'm sure they must have a couple of washing machines or something in their training ground that their owners could sponsor for a couple hundred mil each. Truth is, they're luke warm on him as are their fans. He'll just be a stop-gap until Haaland is attainable for less than the suggested £500m deal it would cost this summer.

Imagine we start the season very well, Kane still at the club but can’t get back in the team.

unlikely I know, but if this plays out how I think it will, then it would give me tremendous satisfaction

short term it would teach him a big lesson, footballers careers can change in a instant. Look at Eriksen.

How does this realistically end now? Do we even want him to stay considering the huge black cloud that will follow him for the next season?

Most fans seem completely done with him. He's insulted the club, the board, our new DoF, his team mates and our new management team. How the fuck does he even come back to training after this and expect to anyone to show him the least bit of sympathy?

He's fucked us no matter what.

Winks, Spurs through and through, goes to the press and bad mouths the gaffer. Kane, Spurs through and through, makes Levy kick Poch and doesn't show up for training, says he rather play with KdB than Son. Come on now. What meltdowns are you referring to?

Winks did us a favour as far as I'm concerned.... Mourinho was poison from day 1....we also havent heard Winks version of events. So rather one-sided view and info on this topic. Meltdowns....have you been reading the posts from early this morning. Go back the last 30 pages.

Things might get so toxic between Kane and the club that he uses Websters law next year meaning we would get just over £20 million for him. Would not put it past his brother.

How many top footballers have used that? I can’t recall any. It would basically destroy the whole transfer economy, and put at risk the massive contracts players are able to negotiate. Any player and indeed club using that as a last resort would be essentially pressing the nuclear button.

If he did that, he'd have to live with being despised by every player, agent and club on the planet. His legacy would be as the guy who broke the system and put many clubs in financial turmoil (as their biggest assets would suddenly crash in value), with all his achievements as a player overshadowed. It's for good reason that no-one has ever done it.

Yeah that's basically forbidden fruit, even Neymar didn't use it when he wanted out at Barcelona.

Watching Sky transfer show. The bloke outside the training ground clearly hasn’t spoken to anyone within the club. Lot‘s more “we expect” this and “we understand” that. Hilarious ?
I had to turn sky off so obvious theyre pushing for the transfer they aren't even trying to hide it. Ricky Sacks was on saying kane has 3 years left on his contract and he's had opportunities to win trophies in finals with us and the sky presenter met that with "but doesn't he deserve to leave to win trophies" it's fucking disgraceful.

Anyone that can do a passable Eddie Murphy impression needs to leave a voicemail for Kane.

"You fell for the gentleman's agreement..."

Problems with a gentleman's agreement.

Did Levy have his fingers crossed, if so the tough titty law is activated.
Did Levy Wink and blame allergies (He don't have no allergies Son!)
Did Levy cough after saying over £100m if so the cough was masking "plus the buyer's best player"
Also Gentlemen are like griffins, they don't fucking exist!!!

Charlie must be getting really desperate, what will he think of next. (he's probably already given the Citizens advice team a good chuckle...)

The jumping of the gun is quite frankly ridiculous, we have no idea why he ain’t returned to training, he could be ill, maybe flight delayed - yes it could be game playing to get the move he wants.

yes he’s brilliant and has been, but let’s be honest here - the club have fucked up, he has delivered or at least tried to, the Mourinho experiment kept Kane motivated for a while but also showed how many gaps we have in the squad too, and it don’t look like being sorted out anytime soon.

I won’t hold it personally, I say get the best possible deal, replace as well as we can and go again.

that being said, and for all one’s brilliance, I’ve often felt the way he plays is often a hindrance to the team too, too deep, not far enough forward etc - very one dimensional, the Euro’s showed that as well.

he’ll score a hat full of he went to city, but I’d bet my bottom dollar he won’t be playing anywhere near as deep for them.

the amount of ‘personal’ digs towards Kane, his family are quite frankly embarrassing. He will do what he thinks is best for him and his family.

as a club, we are and always will be bigger than one player

We have no idea but silence speak volumes, Kane could easily come out on social media and clear it up if this was the case

If he has skipped training it's not unlikely that he'll fake an injury to avoid playing against City in the first game. So we likely have no recognised striker ready to play in the first game of the season- hope we can get one in and beat them.

If Kane doesn't play we'll go with Son up front against them and beat them 2-0 (again)
