I get what people are saying about the atmosphere etc
To add a further caveat. Keep him and it keeps a large cloud over the place. He might knuckle down and give his all but he won't be at his best, no one is when they are unhappy. His team mates know he desperately wanted to leave and so do the fans.

At this point the best case scenario is getting a huge bid from City and rebuilding.

We have to be willing to keep him, and Levy will if not for leverage as much as anything, but it's only kicking the can down the road at this point IMO
I get why people say this and I initially agree re selling getting the money in moving on but let's not weaken our position.

If we take some steps forward. He wants that goals record. Can be afford to sit out a season? Nope. If city don't bid again, what option does he have? None but to play.

It's that simple and with the window closed everyone knows where they stand. He'll need to earn the trust of the fans and teammates sure but that'll be for him to deal with even if it's a bit "toxic". Could be good.

We don't sell him? Who cares? We sell him next summer for at least £100m but hey if not we've got 3 seasons of a Kane that doesn't want to be here but needs to break the goal record so yeah be a bit selfish Kane why not and bag a load of goals for us, I'm sure Sonny won't be giving you so many assists though.

Let's not get too caught up in we've got an unhappy player. It's slightly different with the berbatovs who could Rot in the reserves if it suited them.

Oh and did I mention he needs to be playing for a certain tournament in Qatar next year?

We can relax ? Not sure I'd be having a great holiday if I were Kane though.

I appreciate the optimism but at this point I'm not sure he can repair his relationship with this club. He has totally shat on 16 years at the club in my opinion. Major disrespect.

Also there are going to be a lot of clubs with £75m saved up for Haaland next summer (plus about £40m in agent fees) and only one can get him. By that metric you'd imagine a couple would have him on their backup list so no doubt he'd want to leave again.
There is a way.

If he was to stay, knuckle down and start scoring again then help us win some trophies. Fans would forgive and partially forget.

Rooney pulled a stunt with Fergie but he returned, got on with it and helped them win more trophies and whilst he's not in the league of legends like Scholes or Giggs, he is up there.

Ronaldo. When United lost the CL final to Barca, he went and sat on his own, basically distanced himself from the teammates and used it as a plea for Madrid to come for him - he'd also told Fergie he wanted to go a year before. Most United fans still adore him and believe he has legendary status too.

Time can heal a lot of things and I think if Kane did stay and admit he was wrong and go onto win things most would forgive and forget. Of course, it would taint things for him because he could have really gone on to be the ultimate legend but he won't get the same adulation, such as Mabbutt, Blanchflower or King.

However, I don't see him staying now. If he doesn't go now, he'll go next summer.

I find it staggering that fans can’t see this is the only way out with our chairman.

how many times does it come to this? We end up ‘hating’ the want-away player

this was predicted months ago… it’s how Levy always ends up ok.

if he had backed Poch we wouldn’t be in this situation where we are upset a world class player doesn’t want to play for a 3rd rate team

Things change fast in football. Back in November/December 2020 we were top of the league and Romano was talking about contract extensions for both Kane and Son. Fast forward a few months and suddenly he's being held against his will!

We could easily bounce back this season (just as easily as regressing further). Nothing is guaranteed in football.

Chelsea sold Hazard and had a transfer ban. 2 years later they win the Champions League. I'm not saying that'd happen with us but proves how quickly things can change.

As for Levy making Kane the bad guy I'm not so sure about that this time. Depends what the final fee ends up being. Anything under £140m and it's all on Kane for me. You just know Levy was wanting £180-200m.

If City really want him they have fucked themselves by paying 100m for Grealish.
Grealish hasnt played one Champions League game and cant get in the England first eleven and hes worth 100m?

To Aston Villa he's worth £100m (more IMO), its not always about stats when it comes to transfer fees.

Not really sure what you expect? Regardless of the context, the reality is so far our valuation hasn't been met - if it was, I'm sure he'd be allowed to leave.

In the present, considering just this negotiation, what do you want Levy to do? Lower his asking price?

Then, he should have done the smart thing and sign a shorter contract for less money.

Oh, wait… I see what I did there. My bad. ?‍♂️

In the past yes but not in this case. We couldn’t really compete with the wages of the other teams back then but Kane is now on a very good wage which we could probably increase if he wanted to renew a contract. Man City are no where near a fair valuation of Kane atm so Kane has no right to be acting like this. If Man City put in a ridiculous offer then I may understand it more. The fact they have put in a 100m offer (which is the exact amount Kane quoted in the Neville interview btw) means i’m on Levy’s side here.

To Man City he is worth £100m.

And if he is worth that to Man City, then, Kane should be worth a fair bit more. Now, it turns out that it does not seem like Kane is worth more to City, so if that remains the case, they won't get him.

It's not Levy's fault Harry has decided to no show training and hide out in Florida.

How many players have we "ended up hating"?
What, 3 or 4?
And why did we hate them?
Because they disrespected our club and us fans.
That has nothing to do with Levy.

Levy's negligent leadership at times recently borders on criminal but that has absolutely zero to do with Kane being in breach of contract and just being an absolute unmitigated dickhead.

I think that's the problem I'm struggling to reconcile. He was supposed to be more than a Bale or Modric. I used to call him God to my Spurs supporting mates. He was the dream player, star striker plucked straight out of the academy. Constantly proving the doubters wrong. We supported him all along the way with all the weird abuse and disrespect he'd constantly get.

To treat the club and its fans like this just feels like a betrayal. Not Campbell level by any stretch. I don't know if you forget this. I imagine it's what it's like if your wife cheated on you. Sure you could stay together for the kids but it'd never be the same.

He also won't get the same slack he used to get. Those laboured performances he often drops (usually when returning too soon from injury) won't go unnoticed. In fact everything will be microanalysed.

If he stays and apologises then the good news is we still have a top class striker that will be motivated for the goals record and the WC, I just worry about the intangibles and the dark cloud it'd leave over the club if it does happen. If I'm a team mate I've probably lost all respect for him right now, that's not conducive to a successful dressing room.

Everyone shits on Dier ruthlessly, but you can't deny that he's proper Spurs.

I loved that comment he made about scattering his ashes at the stadium.

You just know he’d relish going through Kane early first time they play as well. Maybe he can become the new Lamela/Shitbag for us..!

I wonder if Harry has a clue how much of a **** he looks like with this? If he does he probably can’t see anyway out of this but to leave.

I also wonder if he realizes by now that it's very unlikely that Man. City will pay this summer what we demand. And that there are no other options left than to stay.

yet somehow Villa can strike a deal with City for Grealish and Soton with Villa for Ings without the theatrics. The players change but Levy is always in the equation when it comes to drama.

Not really sure what you want Levy to do in this situation? City and Spurs are at least £60m apart in their valuations, according to some reports. Do you want Levy to just accept City's offer to do away with the drama?

I think what’s really shitty is putting himself into a position of taking advantage of the current isolation protocols so he doesn’t have to return

I would bet my house that he’d find a way to get round the isolation procedure otherwise. Or it’d be fast tracked in some way etc.

Proper dick move.

“Ohhh noooo, can’t. Sorry. Covid. Gotta isolate. Rules are rules.”

Yeah, fuck off. It doesn’t wash at all. Footballers are largely in a bubble anyway and have been travelling with their countries for the Euros etc.

Absolute shite hawk.

To be honest, I don’t even really know how he managed to put up the numbers he did last season. He’s looked nothing but leggy, off the pace and lethargic for the last 6 months or so. If not more.
Im not just saying this because all this has come out, as that would seem awfully convenient, but there’s always been something that I can’t put my finger on about Kane that I’ve not been a fan of and he’s never been my favourite player. Something about the way he plays that irks me. I think he’s very good, but I don’t “like” him as such.

Personally, I wouldn’t miss him. I’ve always preferred Bale, Son, Lamela, Vertonghen, Dembele etc.

We’ll see what happens.

What I do know, is that his shenanigans are essentially fucking Spurs in a number of ways right now. And thats about as low as you can go.

I hope his vanity project wins him fuck all and I hope he regrets this behaviour for the rest of his life.
