Have you considered the mood in the camp if we don't move on Winks, Sissoko, Aurier, Dier, Dele? They're going to be hard to shift and they're unlikely to start many games and will have to be content on the bench too. I agree we could have a sulking Kane along with an unhappy bunch not getting game time. Ndombele doesn't appear to be the happiest of individuals either by all accounts.

What I'm trying to say is that we should'nt be selling a player because we're worried about him sulking. I think we could have other players just as unhappy for various reasons. It's one of the managers hardest tasks, to keep a 25 man squad all happy. At least with Kane he'd be getting game time. I'd like to think as a professional he'd knuckle down and get on with it. Maybe that's wishful thinking on my part who knows. But I'll get we'll see soon if City don't meet our deadline.
I take your point but I think the negative influence that a disgruntled Harry Kane could generate especially amongst players like Son, Moura, Hojbjerg and our new arrivals could be of far greater consequence than all of those other players combined.
Again, just my opinion.

I mean all it would take for me to love Harry again would be a hattrick against City and him to run over to Pep and give him the finger then run towards the adoring Spurs fans shouting I LOVE YOU over and over.

He'll get a reaction similar but maybe not as good as Modric did in that preseason game, in my opinion anyway. There's a chance we keep him, no point in burning the bridge completely if he's going to be here another year.

I suspect there will be more boos mixed in, but mostly drowned out by clapping.

Kane, after being "one of our own", forcing his way out to a league competitor, is a lot different than Modric or Bale.

Now, Kane could help himself with a non-PR written statement about his love for Tottenham and apology to his teammates and fans for the distraction, and that he is ready to get on with the season.

The reality though - Kane appears to have no real interest in remaining with Spurs, so I think he will get a mixed-message should he enter the game.

Again, Simon Jordan on the money. I’m so glad someone out there speaks unbiased sense!

As others have said, Simon Jordan has been excellent on this recently. I always thought he was a bit of a thick prick - but he's nothing of the sort.

Danny Murphy not really grasping some of the longer words said there.

My dream scenario is he comes on with the intent on showing Pep what he's missing out on. Scores a last minute winner, and pep buys him next day then they go on to lose the league by a point.
Or all of that but Kane pulls both his hammies and does both his ankles on his debut for them.

We pay his wages and we can't afford to leave a player of his calibre out of the squad against the current Premier League Champions.

Play him, if he's as professional as he claims he is he will put in a professional performance. I hope he scores the winner. If he does that makes it win win for us, it shows them what they're missing and puts the price up it and it is something of a statement win for them and the rest of the league, and 3 points in a game that couldn't be much tougher.

I think Kane will come on, score a goal, the fans will sing his name and Dele will say, “how can you leave after that?” To which Kane will reply, “I can’t”.

Problem is Kane can't stay-simple. we can't afford to let him rot although I would be tempted.
We asked 160-they offered 100 - all speculation - meet in the middle 130 win -win for me. Get rid, use the money wisely as we are in need of a couple of players especially a forward.
Why can he not stay? Yeah he skipped training and that was a bad look but if this deal falls through do you think Harry Kane is going to stop playing football for a whole season ahead of a World Cup summer and also curtail his desire to break Shearer’s record?

Is Kane technically in "the squad" while he's isolating and training on his own? It felt like Nuno was very careful choosing his words, he didn't explicitly say Kane was in contention.

I dont agree we should just meet in the middle. If we've asked for 160, not a penny less.

What if we asked more than he's worth in an effort to push the sale price? That meets this scenario exactly.

Was just going to say the same thing. At the time he made the comment he still hadn’t spoken to Kane.
Kane may declare he isn’t available as he wants to leave and won’t jeopardise a move by getting injured.

I remember him being a moany fucker but I think that was all based around the John Bostock transfer IIRC, and he spoke out against us. But he's definitely a good listen now.
IIRC it wasn't so much us that his beef was with but more how the tribunal arrive at their valuation and that the process needs some reform.
(although obviously we weren't exactly his favourite people at the time)

I find it hard to believe that people would suggest your best striker doesnt start against the league champions

I'm reading more between the lines on this news.

To Harry -
'Harry Kane is expected to be fit' - trans. 'Don't be thinking of going through the motions waiting for City to come in. We might select you, we might not, but if we do and you're hopelessly unfit you're going to look an even bigger dick than you do now.'

To City -
'Harry Kane is expected to be fit' - See? We told you we intend to keep him, and play him, unless you meet our valuation. We're not going to put him on ice until you manage to offload some fringe players.

To the fans -
'Harry Kane is expected to be fit' - This prick isn't going to make mugs of us. We're riotously pissed off with him, and we're going to damn well put him front and centre and not let him hide away from you.

In the end, I'd be surprised if he ends up being selected. But I don't think this news is really about that.

Who really cares about records apart from Kane.
When this story broke I was pleased. I’ve been critical of Kane for a couple of years and feel we needed to part company and move on as a team. Him staying will hold our development back. Him staying it’s about him again. Trust me, we won’t miss him.

I think if Kane stays, it will be shades of Eriksen's last few months here.

I've no problem with Spurs playing hardball here, but I do hope we reach a solution by the end of the transfer window.

(I think the club already knows the answer, and is just tying up loose ends at this point.)

This is all based on a quote from Nuno. Nuno doesn't ever say Kane is available. He says all the players who have been working every day are available...so far that doesn't include Kane. Basically he just didn't say he wasn't available and Sky want to act like they know something.
