Question I've been thinking about: let's say City ultimately won't pay what Levy wants, but they are able to prize Haaland away for a sum they would have paid for Kane (but Levy didn't deem high enough).

Where does that leave Kane? Presumably he stays with us at least for one more season; but where does he then go? Is it essentially that he doesn't really give a shit where he ends up so long as it is at a club where he might have more opportunities not to turn up in finals, sorry, I mean 'win trophies'?

But seriously, where would he end up?

It's probably that reason why he's decided to throw his Spurs legacy in the bin and try to force it.

That said there'll be about 5-6 elite clubs going for Haaland and only one of them can get him. Kane wouldn't be a bad backup option with that £100m+ unused transfer pot (release clause plus agent/daddy fees).

United. That would be his only option

Nah I can't get behind the flat out abuse on twitter. Way too much. I guess the online bullying campaigns lately have fallen on deaf ears. I guess the charity we played in aid of was ignored.

Do I think Charlie is good at his job and giving Harry the best advise? No. Far from it. But to take it to this level? Can't agree with it whatsoever.

Online bullying and abuse is a serious problem. I refuse to take part in it and think people should think better of the words they use.

*Cue the funny, optimistic, d'oh and disagree ratings*
I have deleted my twitter and FB, only used it to keep up to date with club stuff really but last couple of years it's just got rediculous, everything is to the extreme and I can just do without it honestly.

Seriously? Who gives a fuck! But City won't get Haaland because a. He won't come to England yet because he'll get found out (and no I don't care how many disagree) and b. He'll join Bayern partly because of A. Haaland may come here at his peak ttho (27/28).

I keep them because of certain people but also I get majority of my news and updates through twitter. I agree though, it's a cesspool these days.

I'm preparing myself for him to stay at this point. If he can get his head down and play to his best, doesn't have to be for the fans or his teammates. Just get on with it. I'll be good.

I genuinely think this shows how ambivalent City fans are to the prospect of getting Kane. He’s throwing away hero status with us to go somewhere where they’re really just not that bothered about him. View attachment 94588

oddschanger has to be one of these paid partnerships.please please say something edgy for clicks and shit.

last time Noel was relevant was for a week in 1994.

I don't like bullying.
Do I think people taking the piss out of Charlie Kane is bullying? Not really, no.
I may be old, out of touch and so on but blimey, I do think that sometimes we can swing too far the other way and get offended far too easily.

I don't think the individual posts taking the piss constitute much, and I've had a laugh myself here about the skidmarks on his office floor, but the weight of thousands of people all wading in on someone that has never sought a public profile and, however ham-fistedly, is probably just trying to do right by his younger brother...it does become pretty tasteless taken as a whole. Social media for you. Largely stay away from it myself.

I agree with all of this. Based on what I've seen (only that which was posted here) it typically falls under what I'd consider gentle piss taking rather than the more nefarious types of abuse often seen on social media.

However, my issue would be that on social media it's an issue of scale. Death by a thousand cuts. If that volume of people were shouting the same things at us on the street I think most would feel 'bullied'

I don't know how Charlies managed it, but apparently Harry's ended up in Kabul?

Yeah, it’s not bullying, and when you look at the posts individually they are mostly light hearted etc. Feels a little bit like a mob though, not all that keen on everyone ganging up on someone who isn’t really a public figure.

I suspect it went something like:

Levy: Yeah, Harry, we’ll let you go, but it’ll have to be over £100m.

Charlie: So Daniel said he’ll let Harry go for about £100m.

City: **Bids £100m**

Levy: …

Harry: WTF?

Charlie: Oh Fuck.

City: Eh??

Harry: FFS.

Charlie: Oh Fuck.

I think at some point Charlie has delivered info about a figure to City that has become like a false truth. Levy wouldn’t have gentlemanly agreed to sell him for £100m or an exact figure.

Charlie seems a bit like that situation when you tell someone that you’ll be there at 1930, knowing you’ll be a few mins late. You sort of neglect telling them that you’re going to be late. You just stick with the 1930. And then be late. To kind of keep morale up in the meantime.

I think Charlie has told a few half truths along the way to encourage a City bid. Or has at least been very economical with the truth. Or been acting the big cheese by being like, “yeah they’ll accept 100 milly, lads. Defo.”

A chancer, perhaps.

I can’t succinctly explain what I mean without typing loads. But you get my drift. Perhaps…
